How many doctors rely on the multiple expandable Boston Scientific LGX to make up for their failings do to sloppy installation and poor inventory? Too short? No matter. They can pump it up to fit. I've had one person tell me that their doctor told them they prefer the LGX because they only have to get within 1 cm and it will still be adequate. That is about 1/2" in round numbers folks.

! cm = .394 , That is closer to 3/8 inch. 1/4 to 3/8 short may be better than 1/2 inch to long when the implant can stretch out in time to fill the entire cavity. The fabric in the lgx can stretch out 20% if your natural tunica is not completely filled by the implant.

In point of face, the fabric does not stretch. It is essentially Dacron. The AMS CX is made of the same stuff and the CX does not lengthen. The LGX is made of the same stuff and because the wave is on the bias, can lengthen. Perhaps at the expense of a little bit of ultimate stiffness and service life. .... maybe.

Read the literature.

Lost Sheep:

I noticed that your surgeon installed the 18cm LGX w/ 3cm rear tips. Just as a point of interest, why didn't he go w/ the 21 cm model w/ no rear tips?
