Whats the Best Implant? Help Me Decide

Postby alterr » Thu Jul 05, 2018 11:21 am

From what I've read, I like the AMS 700 LGX because it retains girth and length. I haven't done much research into Coloplast though. But in your honest opinion, whats the best implant in terms of girth, length, durability, reliability, etc? Should I stick with this AMS or get Coloplast or another product?
ED since 1996. Peyronies in 2012. PRP in 2013 and 2017. Dr. Brock, urology, NC, USA. Cialis and Viagra stopped working since 10/2017. Haven't been on Trimix since 3/2016. Will consider injecting it again. Will be prescribed testosterone injections soon.

My surgeon and I talked about the Pros and Cons of both brands. After giving it a lot of thought I said my preference was an AMS LGX, but said I trusted him. Afterwards, he said he was happy I had decided on the AMS because once he got in there he knew it suited my specific anatomy the best. I would advise you allow your doctor to decide after discussing your goals from the implant.

It also depends on your penis size. The guys who are well hung are happier with Titans. My fully pumped size is 6”, but those in the 7”+ range see advantages with Titan.

I think it depends on your anatomy. My pre-implant girth was 7.25 inches and I felt the Coloplast was was more appropriate for me than the AMS. I am very happy with my decision.

I left the decision to my surgeon. He chose the Titan because of the size of my penis and my girlfriend is very happy with the outcome :)

this AMS versus titan debate is perhaps something that will never get settled. the vast majority of us have had only one implant, so we really are not able to give an opinion. There are a few of us who have had both, and their opinions are useful since they can provide true comparative experience.

I do recall that there have been some patients (kramer video) who came back for a revision to go from AMS to Titan just to get the girth of the titan.

Personally, I am a titan fan because it is harder in the hard state and has more girth (thus, a better sex machine).

The best source of information on comparing these two brands , in my opinion , is presented in the below youtube vide:

Title of the video= "implant comparison: coloplast versus AMS for penile implants"

Perfect advice, IMO. I would add one caveat. Tell your surgeon which one you think you prefer and that you want an explanation regarding his choice if he decides otherwise. My circumstances may not be typical, but I wasn't happy with the decision/selection made on my first implant. I hated my Titan for many reasons. It's still too early for me to make a fair comparison to the LGX but already I've determined that, for me, some of the supposed cons of the LGX aren't accurate. I have no hinge, no wobble, same size length, a little less girth, and an easier to use pump. It may not be as hard as the Titan but my wife didn't like that super hardness. She said it felt more like a steel rod than a normal dick. I promise you the LGX gets super hard! It's difficult to adequately explain the difference. But, the main difference (again, for me) - so far, - my dick feels more like a dick and less like a couple of stiff plastic crinkly cylinders. My wife says it's also warmer. Sex is still a week off for us so any comparisons right now are preliminary.

There are plenty of people on this site that are thrilled with their Titan. There is even a person or two who changed from the AMS to the Coloplast. I can only relate my own experience. Good luck with your choice.
Age 72, wife is 52. 20+1 cm Titan Touch implanted by Dr. Kramer on 18 October 2017. Revision to AMS LGX 21+2 cm on 11 June 2018 by Dr. Carrion at Tampa General. Age-related ED + slight Peyronies bend (left) and slight hourglass in the center.

So you prefer the AMS to the Titan. I saw a video showing that the Coloplast gets bigger girth than the AMS LGX. At this point I dont know which to go with.
