Is it Ok to Get Implant from Coloplast Doc?

Postby alterr » Thu Jul 05, 2018 11:18 am

I'll most likely get an implant soon. The doc I will be seeing uses Coloplast exclusively. But he told me that if I wanted AMS he can implant that too. Should I get an implant from a doc who exclusively uses Coloplast even if he said he can implant AMS if I wanted it?
ED since 1996. Peyronies in 2012. PRP in 2013 and 2017. Dr. Brock, urology, NC, USA. Cialis and Viagra stopped working since 10/2017. Haven't been on Trimix since 3/2016. Will consider injecting it again. Will be prescribed testosterone injections soon.

Personally it bothers me when a surgeon only uses one brand. Both have their Pros and Cons.
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

I specifically eliminated any surgeon who used only one brand and only did infrapubic. This is an important, life-altering decision. There are many other, more experienced, more skilled surgeons. I didn't want my implant performed like it was an assembly line process.
Age 72, wife is 52. 20+1 cm Titan Touch implanted by Dr. Kramer on 18 October 2017. Revision to AMS LGX 21+2 cm on 11 June 2018 by Dr. Carrion at Tampa General. Age-related ED + slight Peyronies bend (left) and slight hourglass in the center.
