Why are Implants Losing to Pills?

Postby alterr » Mon May 28, 2018 5:19 pm

If implants are so much better than pills, VED and other solutions, why is it losing so much popularity to these other solutions?
ED since 1996. Peyronies in 2012. PRP in 2013 and 2017. Dr. Brock, urology, NC, USA. Cialis and Viagra stopped working since 10/2017. Haven't been on Trimix since 3/2016. Will consider injecting it again. Will be prescribed testosterone injections soon.

When I had my surgery, the doctor said he didn't know what he was going to do until he had a chance to see how bad the other idiots had screwed me up. I gave him consent to do whatever he needed to do to fix the situation. When I woke up I had an implant... I had no idea such a thing even existed. And then, of course, there are the fear mongers that keep posting "OMG DON'T DO IT... IT'S PERMANENT"... yeah, so is the urge to wanna screw the ass off my wife so what's the problem???

Hi Larry,

Excuse the question, but could you be clearer on what you're trying to say? I'm not getting the gist of your comment.

So, basically what I am saying is that the pills are very well advertised. I didn't even know the implant existed so I just did without sex.

Also, there are some members who seem to constantly try to scare members (especially the young ones) away from the implant.

Hows the sex with the implant so far? I'm a bit apprehensive about getting one because I'm thinking that if I do get it that all sexual feelings will be severed and I'll end up with a sexually satisfied partner which wont be me. Let mne know your thoughts on this. Thanks.

I believe it’s partly an insurance issue. It’s expensive so some insurance companies don’t cover it at all and those that do make you do everything else first. In my opinion it is also largely a medical issue. I went through a string of doctors who never even told me about it so I didn’t know about implants. I think there are many doctors who don’t do implants so they only offer what they can do. I also wonder if doctors don’t get kickbacks from pharmaceutical companies so it’s to their benefit to prescribe pills.

I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

The pills are less intrusive for starters. Implants actually predate the pills. It's only natural that a newer treatment that is less intrusive, cheaper and provides a satisfactory solution for many men is going to cut into the implant market. While the implant is a miracle cure for many, the pills are a miracle cure for many more.

That's not an anti-implant statement. I agree that there are many cases where the implant could be seen as a God send were it used. I'm sure there are many thousands of men that could benefit from an implant but are never told of it or can't afford it.

It is not true that "all sexual feelings will be severed" and that you won't be a "sexually satisfied partner." My sexual feelings are just as good as before, and even better in some ways because the implant makes my dick hard. And I am definitely a "sexually satisfied partner"! :D

What is your basis for making the statement that "implants are losing SO MUCH popularity to these other solutions?" Who is comparing this race, and what are they basing it on? I would really like to know if you have a legitimate source for this since this seems to be a completely nonsensical statement.

While Viagra and implants are not mutually exclusive, they are normally used for entirely different situations. If someone has a significant venous leak, low blood input flow, peyronnie's disease, is a cancer survivor, or any number of other ailments, he could swallow pills all day long and get zero results (aside from the nasty side effects).

Conversely, if a guy has a bit of a problem and pops a pill which results in a great round of sex, why would he possibly consider an implant?

WTF?
Married for 35 years, 63 years old, pretty fit. ED advanced in last 20 years. Pills worked initially, and shots were very effective for several years. Developed some PD (35 degrees) and VL within the last 2 years. Implanted 5/30/2018 with a Titan OTR.

So many of us on FT ended up with an implant as a solution because the pills were no longer effective. I did the injections too in the end, but hell, I found it literally hit and miss and who can honestly say they miss that process!
I love my implant and my partner loves it so much she recently said that if I died or left her she would insist a new partner get one if he was unreliable..........she needs sex daily and a bionic dick is a reliable friend to a woman like Miss H ;)
