Re: Numbness after surgery
i didnt have physical numbness per say..
I was uncut all my life even after surgery..meaning uncircumsized...
But i did experience a slightly more difficult time to orgasm if i tried having sex every other day it did take a lil longer to force orgasm..
It not such a bad thing for me,,as i enjoy lasting longer than normal anyway. All i need to do to regain sensitivity is not orgasm for a few days..But,,,i did notice...My orgasms now last a lil longer...If i hold my breath...i notice i gain like a whole 2 or 3 seconds more of extra ummff if that makes sense...its actually quite nice benefit...
But i have to be careful with how much i pump..If i over pump my titan,,i can develop pressure pain around the middle to upper half..I believe its because my titan expands more than i did pre op..and i did gain girth...Normal trojan condoms are to tight feeling and will hurt..I found more comfort wearing magnums even though i cant fill the length..the girth is sooo much better feeling...
i pump about 42 times...then kinda stretch it exercise then its baby pumps until 50...if i need more to really feel it..ill go 55 to 58 pumps max...it maxes out i think 60 pumps...i mean really teeny tiny pumps at that point..

I have mixed feelings. IP definitely seems to heal faster. However, there is a large vascular/nerve bundle nearby and I wonder if surgical trauma to this bundle contributes to a lot of guys having numbness or loss of sensation. That usually resolves after weeks or months...but not always.
Also IP patients tend to have more tubing visible/palpable at the base of the penis. I asked Dr. Hakky about it and he confirmed that -- it's just a matter of limited access to that area from above.
Dr. Hakky wants to do IP on me, but he does both types and I'm not sure which way to go. I'm willing to undergo a longer recovery for a better result, but I'm not sure if the result would be "better" or just slightly different. I plan to have a follow-up discussion on this with Hakky before my surgery.
ElbowRoom with the malleable, without risk of breakage or very limited, almost to zero, almost zero revisions, no pump between the balls, no wires between the balls, no reservoir, with those measurements that you find yourself with, taking into account, in the worst case a loss of 2 cm in length and 1.5 cm in circumference you would find yourself with a big dick, who would make you take an inflatable? in any case the decision will be yours, do not let the surgeon decide because he will put you a 100% inflatable, in fact, go to a high volume implantologist for malleables, I think it is carrion, I know that in the US there is

Thanks for the input!
I had a conversation with my doc about malleables. He said with my anatomy I would end up with a very log, difficult to conceal penis that was thin, kind of the classic "pencil dick". He strongly recommended against it, to the point he said he wasn't sure if he'd agree to do it because the chances of being unhappy with the result is extremely high.

Good point. I don't know what the axial rigidity is with malleables, it always seems "adequate" but not "amazing" to me. And it seems it would be harder to maintain good rigidity the longer the prosthetic is.

Re: Numbness after surgery
I wasn't sure how to answer as the poll assumes that an endpoint has been reached. I'm just over 15 weeks post op and still healing. I answered 1-3 months as I had enough feeling to orgasm from sex (intermittently) fairly soon after I started cycling at 6 weeks. But I still have numbness at the base of my shaft on the underside, from the penoscrotal incision to just under the frenulum; so the most sensitive parts for arousal and orgasm are working. At the shaft sides and above have normal sensation. Recently I have noticed that the numbness has started to improve a little but is still there. Thankfully it isn't affecting my ability to orgasm but I can take a long time to get there. Overall I'm happy with the results I have so far, as it's 1,000% better than the 24/7 limp dick I had for 3 years. But I am hoping that the numbness will improve further and completely resolve eventually. In the meantime I'm continuing to cycle, have sex and I also massage the numb area. I'm hoping that massaging may promote nerve healing but I have no scientific evidence to support that.

LGXDownunder, based on his directions below I believe you answered in the guidelines for the poll. Like you and others, I have some lack of "sensitivity", however I don't interpret it as numbness, rather some lack of sexual sensation in some areas. Is that what you were referring to as "feeling" ?

Hi Chuck, Mine was/is mainly numbness above the incision, but I do also have some reduced sensitivity which has me wondering whether that part could be libido related. I'm still very keen for sex but sometimes notice less stimulation at times while actually doing it. It could be that my OCD tendencies mean I'm overthinking the biological progress of my recovery rather than simply focusing on enjoying sex.

Re: Numbness after surgery
John, I can relate to wondering if the issue with sensation is physical from surgery, or a change in libido associated with the "trauma" of ED, treatments, surgery, recovery -- all of it. Since ED had some impact on my libido before the final step toward the implant, I decided to work on libido while also waiting out continued physical recovery to help with sensation (assuming that's the, or one of the, issues). To that end, I've found that THC, specifically the Sativa strain, is helpful. Prior to going down the implant path, I'd found PT-141 very helpful, and I'm about to try that again. In addition, I've been following forum members who use HCG and started a dialog with my Dr about it. I'd be glad to relay info on any of those if useful.
Regarding those affected by numbness after surgery, I'd encourage a conversation with your PCP, urologist/implanter, and any other of your key medical providers about these options. And as always, be sure to consult with those providers to understand those treatments in the full context of your unique physiology and health issues.
