Please allow me to offer some gentle, constructive criticism.

Everybody on this board (especially in the implants section) is suffering or has suffered to some degree, this board exists for mutual support in that suffering. No matter what the topic title is or who it's aimed at, many people who are not the target may have opinions, want to weigh in, and want to be heard.

Frankly, your reaction to the older guys responding in the other thread was over the top -- profanity laced accusations and admonishments, amounting to "shut the fuck up, boomer." Just remember that these are guys that have all suffered in their own way, many of them for decades, and just want to voice their joy at having fixed their issue...maybe they think young guys could get inspired by that and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Instead of yelling at them, maybe just a gentle statement in the thread of "I really want to hear from the younger guys and their experiences" or "Let's not get too far off-topic here" would come across much better.

I know it's the internet and it's very easy to get frustrated and pounce on posts you don't like. But this forum is really kind of unique in that everybody here wants all the other members to succeed and overcome their issues. Looking at it from that perspective might recast those posts you don't like as meant to be inspirational and not taunting.

Wish you the best!

Totally agree with ElbowRoom! The site is a place to post opinions knowledge and not attack people.

I’m a younger guy and very aware of the fact the site has more older members. You can choose what you read so why should any member not get involved in discussion. For myself personally if I’m to have an implant it is useful hearing an older perspective on things.

People are free to choose who to interact with!
28 years old.

Currently trying injections - may be a neurogenic cause of ED.

Excellent takeaways. Let's freely refute ideas, not the person or group.

It is okay to like or dislike an implant. Listening to both sides keeps potential patients from regretting if there is trouble such as loss of sensitivity due to unintended nerve damage/trauma, since these issues are often irreversible beyond waiting up to a year with hope for possible nerve regeneration! No need to silence or shut down those who have had a bad experience either!

You guys keep on assembling Straw Men to argue with. Absolutely no one is silencing brothers that have had a bad experience. People are shutting down guys that make stuff up. Tooyoung in particular is getting called out for giving out bad bad bad information. And not by older guys or guys with IPPs either. Duke Cicero is 30 and has a malleable, and is one of his biggest critics. I’m 50. None of this has anything at all to do with being old, having a malleable, or being a success story. It’s everything to do with making stuff up.

Hello Elbowroom,

If you're going to establish a "verdict," please analyze my first post in this thread word by word. My response was originally a reply to someone asking why a young man would dread getting a penile implant. I answered from the perspective of a young man, only to be met with responses like, "If you need it, get it... why the fuss?"—along with dismissive shutdowns. However, I wasn’t disputing the fact that refractory ED has no solution except for a penile implant...but it seems lack of objectivity is the main theme here.
I'm not taking it personally because I understand where it comes from—those who have just been implanted or are about to be implanted often seek reassurance through hearing an optimistic narrative.

Clarifying the implications of getting a penile implant at a young age is entirely different from discussing it in an older age group. Factors such as logistics, marriage, career, kids, insurance, financial burden, and the likelihood of requiring more revisions make the experience literally an entirely different one not just distinct. Recognizing these realities isn’t about undermining anyone's pain—it’s simply part of medical analysis, encompassing demographics and contextualization. Unfortunately, some people don't see it that way, which is why they intrude—not to engage in discussion but rather to shut it down and feel better.

Yeah "bad bad bad" information is your opinion and you couldn't silence this either.

Stating your opinion isn't "making stuff up"...this is just a lame and a vague word...for instance, if i started to overly ass lick more than any politically correct ass licker here, believe me you would have supported that fiercely...even though it's "made up"...so it's not about "bad bad bad mad up information"...it's about you just don't like an opinion...or don't like to hear it..and I understand where it comes from.

What qualifies as good or bad information?

Is it determined by popular opinion or by logical analysis of facts step by step?

“Listen to your doctor” is good advice, only until someone encounters an experience that contradicts what they were told.

I think well reasoned arguments are far more helpful than name calling.

More Straw Men! The only one calling anyone names is tooyoung, “ass licker” seems to be his preferred term for anyone that doesn’t buy what he’s peddling.

To the extent people have refuted him, it’s been with logic and reason.

But look. I’m not here to feed the trolls. People say stupid stuff over and over, and people are gonna point it out.

I offered no "verdict" and was careful to be very neutral and non-confrontational in my statements.

There is no "intrude" on an open internet forum. People will talk about what they want, regardless of the thread title, and sometimes steer the thread off-course. This is called "thread drift" and happens all the time. In fact, us discussing this has nothing to do with the topic in this thread so we're doing it right now. Yet, the person who started the thread is not attacking us for getting off topic.

But that said, we should probably discuss this in a different thread.
