That is such a bummer and disappointment for me. I know it is not in anyone’s control but I had honestly made up my mind about having this surgery with him. It would have worked perfectly well for me as I am in NJ.
i was all set for my surgery and had even bought the prescription medicines and was going to start showering with hibiclens.
I tried taking appointment from Dr. Nejad at Hackensack but he is not accepting any new patients. Now I have taken appointment with Dr. Robert Valenzuela at Mt. Sinai NYC. Does anyone have any feedback or reviews for him? From the limited posts here about him, he seems to be good and high volume.

If Dr. Eid will be back in 2 months, and you are leaving the country in May, then there is still enough time for you to get this done with him?

Yes, but I can’t take the risk of being turned away again in April. Then I will be really screwed. I can wait till late March but post that it will be really on the edge. I know my issue is unique and no one here would have so much issues about visa or insurance. Also, it is still not known whether 2 months wait is indeed 2 months or more.
I have actually written to Dr. Eid and asked him. Lets hope I get a definite response.

I have to disagree with you. You're making way more assumptions than I would. To that end, I would be hesitant to advise a faceless internet stranger to follow a process that I wouldn't follow.
April 1 vs April 30 is the difference between an implant & no implant.
For heavens sake, give Atul some time to recover before he flies around the world.
Even the slightest problem could make him miss his flight.

There are experienced, high volume implant surgeons located all around the country. Just depends how far you are willing to travel to get it done and how much time/$ you have on hand to do it.

-------------------------------------------------

FWIW, I got my implant from my doc w/in a couple of months after contacting him -- 1 month to see him and 1 month for the surgery. He prefers to do infrapubic implants using the Titan Touch.

You could probably get an appt for an implant w/in a couple months from him; maybe earlier if you tell him it's "urgent." That coud be before Eid's office ever gets back to you.

My doc's name is listed below. His office is located in Silicon Valley in CA and the hospital he uses is in Los Gatos. There are some very nice places to eat/stay located nearby in Los Gatos & Saratoga.

His office accepts all types of insurance and he charges around $19k for an out-of-pocket patient.

Good luck!

I think if I were in your shoes, I would try to schedule a surgery with another surgeon in early April, and if Dr. Eid is back before then, you can always cancel the other surgery.
In any case, good luck, man! And please keep us posted on whether Dr. Eid has a definitive return date..

I went Dr Cordone in Miami and he was great.

Very happy.

Atul, you might want to investigate if you can self pay your insurance month by month. Many plans will allow a spouse do that upon a divorce.
Also, check with the immigration people. Ask for a 30 to 90 day extension for medical reasons. I bet that you can get it if you explain that your doctor has had a medical emergency.

Many thanks to all for their fine advise .that is the real purpose if this forum.

I have scheduled appointment with one surgeon on the 16th and will explain to him my tricky situation and ask him how soon can he do a surgery. I hope to get clarity by then from Dr. Eid as well. My preference would be to do surgery with Dr. Eid but I shall keep a cut off date for that. Will try to take surgery appointment from other doctor after that date.

Will keep this forum posted. Again many thanks to all fine gentlemen for their advise.

If anyone should further text him, can you let him know that there are a number of us praying for him?

I haven't even met him yet - my appointment in March will likely need to be postponed or cancelled.

But I'm a pretty devout Catholic and have added him to my daily rosary intentions.

If I was sick, it would really give me great comfort in knowing people are praying for me... Even people I have never met. It might bring me hope not only for my health, but hope for mankind. (And thus lift my spirits)

I messaged Dr. Eid and explained to him my unique and tricky situation. He told me he expects to come back in April. Said possibly earlier - Possibly Later.
He also advised me to seek appointment from Dr. Billy Cordone in case I can’t wait. He said he fully trust Dr. Billy whom he has trained and taught. He says Dr. Billy does the no touch surgery exactly the way he was taught by Dr. Eid.
I am still deliberating but I am very confused now. Will discuss with my family and take a decision in a day or 2.
