So, it's 3 days to my surgery and I'm starting to feel some nervous anticipation.

Still on the 2x/day Bactrin, Colace and Heblicens washes. Nothing else to do until then.

Not "worried." Just want to get it done.

Know how you feel. The waiting was like a kid before a birthday. Then wham, you're waking up from surgery.
Bionic.

There is no evidence I have seen of discrimination against implanted men. If there ever is, the ADA can be amended, I suppose.

Implanation didn't come up in "Downsizing" but if it it would have taken "small" to an entirely new level but I don't consider any one w/an implant as "disabled." More like, enhanced in which case the ADA should not apply. ;)

I was just talking about discrimination, not implying disability or enhanced ability.

2 more days and counting.

I'll be distracted by football today. Being from the SFBA, obviously a Niners fan here. Go Niners!!! :)

2 days out, and I was a bundle of nerves. It started feeling like I was counting down the hours, not the days or weeks anymore. But the hours. It had that certain “date with destiny“ feeling that was rather uncomfortable.

Today, at 19 days postop, your posts serve as a reminder to me of what it felt like and of course, I, and everybody else who’s done, it can relate. Not too often in our lives do we have those “date with destiny“ moments!

Soon, you’ll be entering the surgery center, and almost at that moment, you’ll start feeling like you’re caught up in advance. People will tell you where to go, what to do, you’ll become the center of attention, and before you know it, you’ll be wheeled into the operating room. My time there was a blur. I remember seeing a lot of people in scrubs and masks, and everything laid out like a brightly lit theater. I scooted on to the operating table, engaged watt was probably about two minutes of small talk.

Then I woke up. Someone else wrote “Wham!! Bionic!“.

I felt so relieved. Like I had. “crossed the river of the unknown“. No turning back.

Every day has been , a relief as I have only gotten better by day, and put more distance between that day of apprehension, the surgery, and today.

Soon, you will be on the other side too.

One day to go. 8-)

I have a 730am check-in at the hospital tomorrow. So, I''m staying overnight at a motel located nearby so that I don't have to leave my house at 5am and don't have to deal w/rush hour traffic to get there on time.

Going to spend the day sightseeing/eating in town before I hit the sack.

Probably won't check in again here until the deed has been done.

As long as long as feel up to it, I'll try report in about how it went later in the day tomorrow or sometime the next day when I get back home after I'm discharged from the hospital.

Again, many thanks for the well wishes. :)

All the best! I'm in the bay area too, tried to meet with Karpman due to his great reputation, but was put off by his office staff. I'm sure he'll do a great job! I'm flying to Houston in a few weeks for my little buddy.

Godpseed.
