Cincinnatus Four Month Follow up visit
Visited the Doc for a four month follow up on Tuesday. Again, surgical healing essentially done, incision barely noticeable. Doc had me inflate and deflate to critique my technique. Said I was doing everything properly. I had mentioned in earlier posts that I had lost about an inch of size. I used my vacuum tube and am glad to report that I am just about pre op length. Did not regain the ¾” I lost post RPP however. Doc said I should be fine inflating and deflating about once a week. That is about our sex frequency so not a problem. Still have a “burn” or ache in the glans after being inflated for about 40 minutes. I might try inflating and deflating every other day and see if I can get the burn to either go away or delay its onset. Doc wants to see me again in six months.
Sexually, the implant is working great. I have a very satisfied “customer”.
We just returned from vacation and get selected for secondary screening at the Barcleona, Spain airport. Made it through Houston, Newark twice and the cruise ship’s screening with no problem. Don’t know if the prosthesis was a factor or whether it was just a coincidence.
Responding to the ongoing questions about degree of satisfaction with the implant. We are both very happy we did it after almost a year of agonizing over the decision. I believe satisfaction is closely related to expectations. The implant does not turn the clock back to age 20. It does provide a rigid and reliable erection on demand. It does not solve relationship issues. Aging libidos need to be managed. The implant does not increase libido. It does make sex more reliable and less hassle so we are inclined to do it more, or perhaps postpone it less. When standing, inflated, I point straight out at maybe 2:30 to 3:00. When lying down, the head is about two inches off my belly. We would do it again in a heartbeat. That being said, we had a very trouble free recovery. If I had the issues described by Alibaba, C-Lab, Palace01 and others, I might feel differently.
This will likely be my last post surgery update unless there is something newsworthy. Thanks for all the support. Again, we would be glad to show and tell with anyone who is struggling with their decision.

Fellow Franktalkers:
On January 6 I passed the one year milestone. Following is a “talk sheet” I prepared for my visit. My recovery has been essentially trouble free. While we are still extremely pleased with the results. That being said, it is not perfect; but it is supremely better than pre-implant. The answers to the questions I posed to the doc are: No erosion or scar tissue build up. The “twangs” and spasms around the reservoir are normal as are the feelings of the implant and penis rubbing together. I was implanted with the release valve that requires constant pressure while squeezing the penis and pressing it toward the body. Theoretically, the valve should close with a squeeze post deflation. If I get some backflow, I’ll just have to re-deflate. He said there was not much he could do with it and can I live with it. I’d prefer that little bit of inconvenience to another surgery.
The doc took a blood sample for a PSA test and it came back undetectable (0.006). That suggests there is no recurrence of the prostate cancer. The doc wants to see me again in a year.
As an aside, I was at Home Depot during the summer and I had on just a pair of light shorts and must have had some backflow. A woman eyed my up and down and said “honey, you need to bring that thing over to my place.” I just smiled.
This is probably my last update unless there is something worth reporting. Thanks for all the contributors and advisors on Franktalk. It is really a great thing to provide information on a subject that is difficult for many men to talk about.

TALK SHEET FOR ONE YEAR IPP FOLLOW UP
JAN 5, 2017
OVERALL:
Overall, we are both very pleased with our implant. Sex has become hassle free again. We have recommended implants to others who say other ED therapies are either not working or too much trouble. Post-surgical recovery has continued to be trouble free. We are using it for sex every five to seven days. Occasionally, I will inflate in between sessions just to discourage scar tissue formation. I had a three year post-surgery (RPP) (Prostatectomy) follow up with Dr. Miles in November and he saw no issues.
DISCUSSION POINTS:
There are a couple of things I’d like to get checked: absence of any abnormal scar tissue and absence of any signs of erosion. I have no reason to believe either is a problem, however, I am not really sure what to look for.
I believe I have regained length to the size I was post prostatectomy and pre IPP. After the prostatectomy, I estimate I lost ½ to ¾ inch. Regardless length is not an issue. Based that my foreskin remains behind the glans ridge more than pre IPP, I believe I have gained some marginal girth. Girth does not seem to have changed since IPP surgery.
I do feel some occasional palpitations, or muscle spasms around the reservoir. This is infrequent and is not painful. Normal?
I also feel the implant moving inside the penis if I cough (it could be the penis moving against the implant). Again, this is not frequent or painful just wondering if it is normal?
I would like to have my deflate procedure critiqued to assure I am getting fully deflated. Post-surgery, my penis is much firmer in the flaccid state than pre-surgery. Pre-surgery, I was a “grower” post-surgery, I am a “shower”. There is little difference now between my flaccid length and my erect length. I understand this is a characteristic of the Coloplast implant, just the same, I would just as soon deflate as much as possible.
Regarding deflation, I would like to know if I have the “one touch” release or the one where pressure must be maintained on the deflate valve while squeezing saline out of the cylinders. (The post op notes did not address the pump/release installed). There is no tactile feedback with the deflate valve. On the crossbar at the top, one side has an indentation, the other side has a protrusion, however the user gets no feedback as to whether the valve is open or not. I always give a firm squeeze of the inflate bulb post deflation to reseat the valve. Frequently (every few days) though my penis gets firmer and I have to deflate when urinating. The backflow never results in a spontaneous erection, just more firmness than is comfortable.
Is there a way of assuring the “fill valve” is fully closed?
FUTURES:
How long and on what frequency should I continue to come in for follow up?
We volunteered for both being willing to discuss implants and our experience with others. We would still be glad to do that.
