Thanks for your thoughts.
I also hope that I'm in the 95% satisfied group as well.
I noticed the difference between my doc's advice and the other "advice" I've seen mentioned here.
I'm going to do my best to follow my doc's instructions but if any of them aren't working for me, I'm not going to promise not to do something else to see if it works or not. Like using ice, for example.

I'm pretty good at managing pain w/o the need for drugs
The point of the story is that I have a high tolerance for pain. I also am not a fan of Norco. I've take it before and it just makes me sleepy and doesn't really alleviate the pain for me. Acetaminophen works on headaches but not much for other types of pain. Not sure what if anything ibuprofen does for me either.
I promise you. Your implant will be a walk in the park after what you went through in Boliva!

Was your implant method peno-scrotal or infra-pubic?
Peno-scrotal. I originally was going with Dr. Perito who does only infrapubic. Changed course along the way and went with Dr. Clavell who favors peno-scrotal. I was concerned about that pump-pulling, and Dr. Clavell said peno-scrotal would allow him to put the pump in the perfect spot and keep it there. From what i can tell that's exactly what happened. It's aft of the original scrotal neighbors but ahead of my perinium, so although tender when sitting until recently, i do believe soon i won't perceive it at all. I wouldn't worry though. Lots of guys do infrapubic with good results.

Regarding BMs, I know that I should but I do not eat a lot of fiber. Mostly protein. Nonetheless, my BMs aren't that hard or difficult. The Colace made my BM last night so loose, it was almost like diarrhea.
Me too. I normally keep things low carb with a typical western breakfast of bacon and eggs. But for this brief period I've loaded up on high fiber breakfasts as i mentioned. Haven't had to push at all during BM's, but i totally get your concern. Don't want to be straining at all those first few days. An impending sneeze freaked me out and i'd rub my nose furiously and consciously stifle it. I can cough now easily and have even sneezed a time or two. No problem.
I've got a lot of oatmeal & popcorn on hand, as well as flax seed and other psillium supplements to add more fiber to my diet if need be.
