I was 67.5 years old when I had my Prostate Surgery (25 months ago). My erection was reaching up to the sky almost naturally touching the belly. Now it's the famous 4..
4rtes, 4:00 and 4" shorter!

Obviously I can be absolutely wrong. My implant is 22 cm + 3 cm, 10 cm of it is in my body. 7 cm inflatable implant should be enough in order to stabilize that thing. If I could inflate the other 3 cm as well it wouldn't make any difference I suppose. In my opinion it's my age plus the state of my muscles. But all of us are just guessing...

Merrix,
No hinge? In that case I have misunderstood the meaning of hinge, if you say you can bend it from belly to 5:30 when inflated.
I thought that was exactly what a huge hinge was.
And no hinge would mean no range of motion at all.
What is hinge according to you then?

My definition of hinge is the IPP is bending, somewhere near the shaft bottom. I don't bend.

I agree range of motion is necessary for comfortable sex.
But there is a trade-off since logically a large range of motion also means a softer erection. The range of motion, or hinge, comes from cylinders bending. Fluid is evenly distributed in cylinders when inflated. So if you can bend almost 90 degrees at the base, you can probably bend the shaft as well. Cylinders are equally rigid from ass to glans.

Maybe bend is the wrong word, how about tilt. I can tilt my cylinders, ass to glans, from my stomach to near my balls while rigid.

And finally, why the angle is important: to me it's a cosmetical issue. Having an erection pointing down does not look like a natural erection. For me, the closer to a natural look and feel the better. Function first of course, but a perfect result includes a natural look as well.

I thought it was cosmetic for you but thought I would ask. Glad it is still functional, which is all that matters to me. As I said earlier, I don't spend time trying to determine how straight I am before sex but to each his own.

BTW After an ejaculation a natural look would be limp. :D

Well, I was never sure what exactly a 'hinge' referred to. I thought it was when the penis could bend at the base - up, down or sideways but still with a straight shaft. While a bend to me would refer to the shaft itself bending.
What you describe as good range of motion was called wobbling or swivelling by Dr. Eid, and was according to him mostly a result of RTEs, but also to some degree a problem occuring over time sooner with an AMS than a Titan due to the thinner cylinders.

In my case, which of course can't be used to draw conclusions about every implant, the wobble effect (or hinge or range of motion) is strongly correlated with the possibility to bend the shaft.
Pumping hard enough to make the shaft not bend also limits the wobbling (hinge etc). Limiting one will limit the other as well. This is logical to me since there is only one set of cylinders and I cannot control where along the length of the cylinders the pressure is higher.

And yes - the ultimately natural IPP would get soft after ejaculation. Don't know if I'd want that though. I kind of like the opportunity to keep going. So in that case I happily accept an unnatural aspect of the IPP.
But when it comes to having an erection pointing down, that's an unnatural look which provides no benefit, so I prefer having it looking as natural as possible, i.e. pointing slightly upwards.

Finally, since the hinge effect has been quite frequently discussed here on FT, it'd be interesting to hear how others than me and Ron defines it!

Amen to that. We certainly do.
The bad thing is that us guessing in public seems to be one of the better sources of information on IPPs available...

Straight out when standing. Straight up when on my back. Wife loves it and is fascinated when watching me inflate it. lol I might add that she was not totally on the same page as I was when we discussed it. She now wonders why WE didn't do it sooner.

ShopMan, you have an implant, why Trimix?

Strongagain, I think ShopMan is using an outdated sig. My understanding is that drugs like Trimix or Viagra no longer work once you have an implant. I am on Trimix now and it works great. But I am thinking about an implant down the road. I'm 60 now -- maybe in a few years. Why? Just because. :D
I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

Very nice sir! Does your glans plump up any more than in the picture?
