merrix quoted: I have said before that I am a bit sceptical to Eid's, Kramer's extremely aggressive protocol. I started inflating twice daily from day 13 and had sex about three weeks post op. I started to point my stiff (but 100% deflated) flaccid down in tight underwear at around three weeks.
This was all encouraged by Dr. Eid.
Very different from the no-touch-for-six-weeks advocated by other doctors.

I said recently before that it is interesting things people are telling me about their implant now they did not tell me before. It seems every doc thinks the other is wrong, and all have their own protocol that differs greatly. Clearly there is no standard. We are an experiment. Interesting how they agree on some areas and strongly disagree on surgery methods too. I was sent a video of Eid and Perito disagreeing in a friendly manner with the way the other does his surgical approach. Clear each one thinks the other is wrong and they spell out why. Outcomes are all that matters as long as the road to get there is as friendly as it can be made possible given the anticipated outcome. All roads may go to the same place but not by the same path.

And let me just clarify that by skeptical I don't mean I think they are wrong. I am just sceptical to any conflicting information. And if I have to choose whom to trust, I choose Eid, Kramer over local low-volume surgeons any time.

And speaking of roads. I know Kramer said: There are only two roads. One leads to infection and one to perfection. Eid was having the same idea. He was never worried about any of my post op worries regarding pump placement, stiff flaccid, size loss, floppy head, ability to orgasm, etc. He just kept saying that his only worry was infection. All other issues he was confident he had got it right.

Update Feb.12 Five weeks and four days post surgery
Guys: Well, we went for the “Real McCoy” this afternoon, a few days before the six week mark. It was great!! We stopped after about a half hour as the implant was beginning to ache a bit. That, however, was plenty of time after six weeks of no sex. Wife really enjoyed it. All the anxiety of whether we could maintain the erection was gone. We had to finish me up manually, as we used a lot of lube for the first time and I think it was too much. I couldn’t get enough sensation to climax. All in all the first time was wonderful for both of us. Looking forward to much more enjoyment from it.

That is indeed great to hear. It seems when implants are functioning properly they dramatically increase the quality of sex life. Looks like you're well on your way to full recovery :D

Update Feb. 18
Six Week Check Up:
Guys:
Had my six week checkup today. Got a clean bill of health. Doc says I am deflating properly and sufficiently. I had some of the same concerns as Merrix about full deflation. Doc says the combination of the newness of the cylinders and some residual internal scrotal swelling are causing the pump to be forward in the scrotum and causes penis to “dress” more to the left. He advises patience (whatever that is ;-)). Got cleared to resume exercising, he says reduce the pre op regimen by 50% had half the frequency. Continue adding a bit a week until back to regular regimen. If any significant soreness or pain, rachet back. (Makes sense). He says wait for three months before using hot tubs or pools. Wife and I both trim bottoms. He says no shaving for three months to avoid micro tears. I had two short stubs of suture poking through the incision. He said it is not particularly normal but no big deal. He clipped those and said they might continue to migrate. He said just clip them with a small scissors if they reappear. Otherwise everything is going well. Still have an ache in the penis after full inflation for 35 or 40 minutes. I’m letting it build until it gets really annoying. Have probably gained about ten minutes since last week before the ache develops. Still cycling twice a day.

Cincinnatus - Great to read your progress.
All the negative thoughts and feelings make sense BUT you have certainly set the bar high with your walks, golfing, cards, gym (and McCoy).
At exactly 1 week I'm not sure I can envision all of those things yet but you are showing that it can be done and that you found yourself a good uro.

Cincinnatus update Feb.21
Guys: Nothing new to report from a physical or recovery standpoint, continues to go well.
I have learned something since glibly reporting last week that I had no “head” or psychological issues relative to ED. We made love last Friday. We did extensive foreplay and got plenty lubricated that way. No artificial lube. Since the RPP, I have had to finish manually because either I could not get enough stimulation, or my erection waned to the point I couldn’t make penetration. At a rational level, I knew once I was able to maintain a reliable erection, that problem should resolve. Thus the decision to go for the implant. What I did not expect was the profound sense of relief, physical release and love for my wife when we were both able to climax from penetration.
So…. I now realize that I was strung out about whether I would be able to get back to climax through penetration and whether it would be as satisfying as before. My wife also was ecstatic about the results. Her position when we were trying to decide on the implant was we both could climax, albeit separately and without penetration. Should we take on the risks of implant surgery? Her answer now is a resounding yes! She also repeated the oft heard refrain “Why did we wait so long and agonize so much?” Bottom line, is we are both really grateful for the whole experience. And…. This after using it only twice since surgery six weeks ago.
We’d be glad to share our experiences with anyone who is still struggling with their decision, just PM me.

Cincinnatus three month update April 4, 2016
Franktalkers: It is with some trepidation I report my continued good recovery. I really feel blessed to have dodged the discomfort and uncertainty some of those implanted around the same time are experiencing; but, here goes.
Physical- continues to go well. Back at the gym and am getting back to my full half hour on the stairmaster at Level 12. Also doing circuit training. We’ve been doing some ten mile bike rides on our tandem bike. Could bike further but my butt gets sore and I don’t want to screw anything up at this stage.
Post surgical: Incision is barely noticeable. Only residual pain is when cycling for more than about 40 minutes. It is really an ache rather than pain. It is relieved by deflating. Inflation and deflation is going without incident. Wife is showing some interest in inflating. She is afraid of hurting me and her fingers are not as strong. No signs of infection. Have not experienced any of the kinking or erosion described by others. Do feel the cylinders rubbing against the inside of the penis when I bend it or squeeze for deflation. I can feel fluid moving in the pump and occasionally it gives a little squeak. It almost sounds like when you kink a garden hose. I suppose the tubing is restricted. It resolves very quickly tho. Flaccid penis hangs almost straight down. It is quite a bit firmer than pre-surgery. It certainly won’t fold up in a jock or compression shorts. Pump is in the center bottom of the scrotum. The bulb is readily accessible. The “bar” at the top sits at about a 45 degree angle to an imaginary line running straight out from my body.
Sexual: We are both enjoying the newfound freedom and lack of hassle. Wife thinks I have gained some girth and lost some length. I agree. Haven’t measured yet, I figure to let about six months of deflations take hold and then see if I’ve gained. Regardless the size issues are not performance issues, we are both very happy.
Next follow up appointment with the doc on May 24.
I am glad my recovery has progressed so well and offer prayers and best wishes for those who are still struggling with issues.
