As others have commented, the recommendations seem to be all over the place. My doctor said no inflation until the 6 weeks follow-up post-op visit. I had the infrapubic procedure, but he said the wait was to prevent any possible damage to healing. He left me with 20 - 25% inflation. I followed his advice as he knew my situation best. I would certainly recommend everyone follow their surgeons advice as well, as they know your situation best.
As to his (and the Boston Scientific rep, who was present at 6 weeks) recommended cycling: twice a day for 30 minutes, longer if I want to and can tolerate it. He said to follow that schedule for 6 months. I interpreted that as 6 months post follow-up, not 6 months post-op.
As to duration per session, probably for most, 30 minutes is all most can tolerate early on. That was the case for me. I hit 30 minutes the first few weeks after cycling started and that was enough. I'm nearly 20 weeks post-op (14 weeks post-follow up visit) and most days I'm cycling up to an hour twice a day, excluding days when I have sex.
It's all getting better day by day, and week by week. Happy days are here again!
