I am 3 days shy of 5 weeks post-op. I too thought the pump was stuck high and I checked with my doctor at my 2 week visit. He checked it and said nope, just keep pulling. It felt stuck, but over several weeks, I have massaged and pulled it multiple times a day, and it now sits at or near the bottom of my scrotum.
The pump, for some reason early on, rotated to where the release valve was pointing backwards. That took a lot "massaging" and work to get it to turn back. Now, the pump is free at the bottom, and sometimes the valve is pointing backwards, sometimes forward. But I can easily turn it now. I guess the Dartos pouch allows some movement. As long as I can rotate the valve forward, I'm good as I want two fingers behind the valve with my thumb pressing the valve to operate it.
In any case, once the swelling went down and I no longer needed to ice, I starting using one of those bean bags that you put into the microwave and heat up for muscle relief, being very careful not to overheat! I'd use it multiple times a day on my scrotum. This gets it very warm and everything just drops. Made massage much easier. At your stage, that might not be an option as you may still have swelling, especially if your procedure was penoscrotal. My procedure was infrapubic, not penoscrotal, so I had less swelling in the scrotum than most penoscrotal operations. The only other thing was my doctor has not allowed me to start cycling (or attempt sex) until 6 weeks as he said he wanted the tissue to heal and for me to focus on the pump. I go in a week from Thursday, and I can hardly wait.
Hang in there, it does get better. A couple of weeks ago I wouldn't have thought that, but it gets better every day.
