Hey guys, just wanted to provide an update. And thank you @Lasthope for your detailed post/response. I really appreciate it. I was really trying to figure out why I had so much of that "donut shaped swelling" below the glans and I think you are spot on. I originally thought it was from my doctor over dilating that area but what you mentioned in your post seems more accurate.
So a few things: I went on another course of antibiotics (Keflex for 10 days - first time I was on Bactrim for 5 days) to heal up a portion of my incision that looked infected. Thankfully, the pain towards the incision area cleared up and it looks like my stitches are starting to fall out on its own and the incision has mostly healed up. So all good there.
I also went for a testicular ultrasound because I felt the bandages wrapped around the area were too tight and I was in some pretty bad pain for 1-3 weeks in my testicular area following the surgery (I had an infrapubic incision not penoscrotal). My doctor told me it's actually from the rods pressing my pubic bone and causing that feeling of pain in the testicles. Thankfully, this has cleared up with time and icing -- and my ultrasound was fine despite some minor hydrocele-- which was probably from the tight bandages. This has resolved, but I still feel sore on occasion. Nothing crazy like before though and I'm sure with more time this will resolve.
Now the interesting thing, now that I'm 4 weeks post surgery the pain has shifted more towards just my glans area. The "donut swelling" under my glans is also still there after all these weeks and I tried to jerk off but it was impossible/ too painful. I am still sore and I feel like any bump or movement in that area causes pain. I also feel like sometimes the rods are "itching" inside towards the glans area. Only other thing that's been strange is that I am urinating way way more than before. I never had an overactive bladder but I am going very frequently and I always have more urgency to go then before I got the implant. I drink a lot of caffeine so that might be why, but again, I never had bladder issues/urgency/ overactive bladder before the implant.
I'm going to give it more time, as I feel like it's my body just naturally getting adjusted to the rod. The pain hasn't been nearly as bad as weeks 1-3 and is mostly just an "annoyance". I'm just glad that I'm able to move more normally now and I am hoping to start working out gradually after week 6 (weight lifting, running sprints, etc).
I also have made adjustments to clothing as anything tight like jeans is an absolute no from now on. Cardio on the bike is also for now not an option as I experience too much discomfort in the perineum area. I am interested in how running sprints will feel like, as I tried running lightly a bit earlier this week and it felt way too awkward.
I hope for better things in the next few weeks and have a visit with my doctor Week 6.
