I have 3 different bikes, all with different seats, so we'll see how it goes in a couple more weeks. Everything else I've tried, like old jeans, etc, has worked just fine. With compression shorts, everything is going to be snug and up out of the way I hope.

I was cleared for cycling (bike riding) at about 6 weeks, but only started riding again last week, at 9 weeks, due to some unrelated leg issues. No problems at all. I used my existing saddle and didn't feel any discomfort related to the implant. Those bits weren't really under any pressure from the saddle. I had some saddle soreness on my sit bones because I hadn't ridden for 10 weeks, but that was all. I also wore cycling knicks that I've had for years. Small amount of cushioning from the chamois may have helped a little. My main concern was what happens if I have a mishap. Just a bit more paranoid than I was pre surgery.

I used this saddle way before implant and love it, especially after implant.

Based on discussion with my physician, I’ve given up cycling. I got back into cycling about 15 years ago but the last several years I went to indoors cycling and now just ride a recumbent 3 or 4 days a week. I tried a number of different saddles over the years but road bike saddles just aren’t designed for comfort.

I miss it because the machine I was riding had over 50 courses and riders from all over the world. I logged over 10,000 miles in about three and a half years and felt like I was my best shape in forty years. I did enjoy riding outdoors but road traffic has increased so much in my area it got to be a safety issue finding decent routes.

Sorry to hear that but it's good that you still enjoy riding a recumbent, which is still a form of cycling, and seems to have some keen enthusiasts.
Yes, saddle comfort on a road bike is relative, it's not like sitting in a car or an armchair.
I've also scaled back my riding in recent years due to dramatically increased traffic volume and poor driving (and aggressive/intolerant drivers).
Now I usually take my carefully planned local route through mostly quiet streets and back roads, with a nice section of road closed to motor vehicles.

I re-examined the saddles, and I believe the most reasonable ones to alleviate perineal pressure are the ISM ones.

This one has especially caught my eye: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OUR59SC?re ... i_atc&th=1. The ISM PR 2.0, in my case, involves daily commuting to work and back home on my gravel bicycle; the ride is short, about 15 minutes one way.

Could someone vouch for this saddle?

I haven't had the follow-up with my physician just yet, but I think I've given it up for good, as well. Even the split-bottom seats don't really accommodate me very well. So I've taken to the elliptical as a form of cardio and have really come to enjoy it. They also make elliptical machines on wheels! https://www.elliptigo.com/bike-family/# ... ical-bikes

Eloquent, I have an ISM PL1.1 40 saddle on my newest Road Bike a 2023 Specialized Tarmac Expert. It's made more for a road bike. I love my ISM saddle, I can go for very long rides 40,50,60 miles and stay comfortable with no pain on my sit bones or my perineum.

The ISM PR 2.0, I believe is made more for a Tri-Bike where you have a more aggressive profile on the bike almost laying down using the aero bars out front. It's a shorter and narrower so you can ride more forward on the saddle while you're on the aero bars.

Remember, if you've been off the bike for a while anyone will have soreness until you get some saddle time on long rides.

I have the AMS 700 LGX implant and I haven't had any problems on the ISM saddle with my implant. It was tight at the beginning but that was because of the incision healing.

This is the saddle that I have.

I've chosen to continue to ride on a road bike and take the risk of it affecting my implant, but I can tell you that I haven't had any perineum problems or felt any implant tubes rubbing down there. The third brother down there just finds his place in my cycling bibs and goes along for the ride. lol

I hope I helped a little,

Thanks for the reply sworks. I think PR is different range of saddles - PR should stand for performance recreational, they should be tailored to commuters and/or long distance rides striving for comfort.
