This is from memory, so if I’m off by a fraction of a cm or inch after five years I’ll apologize in advance.
10 days before surgery the doctor did the ol’ stretch test. 16.2 cm. Roughly 6.4 inches.
At home a few days before surgery I used my last dose of trimix ever and measured at 17.4 cm erect (BPEL). 6.85 inches. I had been that length since my mid-20s. I could get erections, I just could never sustain them. Somehow, I guess, that kept me from seeing the shrinkage some guys with ED have to deal with.
Three days after surgery I got the drain out and the doc deflated me, telling me to start cycling.
So when I got home from office I pumped up the best I could and hoped like hell I would be able to find the deflate button. Morbid curiosity resulted in me taking a ruler to what was left of my dick. 4.75 inches erect.
Yes, that’s correct, I lost 2.1 inches of length immediately after surgery. Yes, you’d be correct in thinking my reaction was “oh fuck.”
To be fair, that wasn’t really a good bone-pressed measurement because the area around the pubic bone above my dick where you measure from was swollen pretty badly.
A month, maybe 6 weeks after surgery a lot of the swelling had gone away and when it did, I had a lot more of my original dick reappear. I was back to at least 5 3/4, maybe 6 inches.
By the 6 month mark I was out past 6 1/2”
At the end of a year, just for shits and grins, I pulled out the ruler and measuring tape and I was at 17.3 cm (6.81”) and a girth a little over 5.5”. Call it 5 5/8”.
I was good with that. I’d regained over 2 inches of length from my first rather disappointing measurement after surgery. I know of no woman who can tell the difference between 6.81” and 6.85”. If I do the balls deep thrust in missionary I am hitting cervix a little too often for her liking so yeah, it’s plenty long.
Do I miss the little bit of girth I lost? It’s tough to say. I think I’m as wide east-to-west as I ever was, maybe wider. But I’m a lot more oval shaped than I was. My cock used to resemble a missile, it was thick with a very round cross-sectional area and the heft felt right in my hand. With the implant I notice that it’s not quite as thick but then again, I’m looking for small things to criticize.
In the final analysis I’m well pleased. I’ve got my size back. The loss/change was so minor that it really does not matter. I hate to describe it as “aesthetically pleasing” but that’s the best description I can think of. It’s a good sized cock but not a porn star cock. I didn’t have a porn star cock to begin with. If it were much larger I’m not sure my wife would like it very much.
Men think bigger is better; women not so much. At our age (post menopause) she doesn’t get as wet as she once did. When I had 6” of girth with trimix I’d occasionally chafe and rub her raw and set up a yeast infection. Nowadays that’s not quite as much of an issue although I am so much harder I tend to use a hell of a lot of lube.
Sorry I wandered away. Answer to question is I got just over 2” back. Moral of story is if surgeon dies you right it all comes back except maybe a tiny fraction of an inch. Almost nobody ends up bigger but most everyone gets within a hair of their original dimensions.
How much length did you regain throughout your recovery process?

It would be great to get back to pre op length plus a bit more, wondering how realistic is it to achieve that.
Hey Nixtex, it has been 6 months since your initial post. I wondered if you managed to gain any more than those initial 0.5"? Did you recover your full length or still down?
would love to hear an update
