Just speaking for myself, if I have to undergo any type of revision surgery, I want a brand new implant ! Everything ! No cutting and splicing new parts with old parts . Imo you're asking for more problems and probably another revision , sooner rather than later .

...... charging 40 to 60k for $10 worth of components. I know surgeon and hospital fees . Everyone is making a ton of money on a 2 hour surgery and not that much in the way of materials. Get all new !

I totally agree I wish he replaced the whole thing but I think he was worried about getting another serious infection like I had a couple years ago . He told me that that is the biggest infection risk is in the scrotum. When I went in for the revision I was under the impression he was installing the new ams pump but I didn’t find out that after the surgery that it wasn’t available yet.

I am considering fat pad removal as well.
Can you share a little info on the fat pad removal?
What procedure did you have, was it covered by ins?
Appr cost?

This is what is says in the operative report.

Operative PROCEDURE:
1. Removal and replacement of inflatable penile prosthesis
with larger cylinders.
2. Resection of suprapubic fat pad.
3. Adjacent tissue transfer for reconstruction of defect
measuring 22 x 10 cm.

This was covered under my insurance using a code for buried penis. I paid my total out of pocket cost for the year

The visual of my penis is night and day better than it was prior. I am extremely happy about that part it was well worth it.

Any cosmetic surgeon can do it anytime. Not sure about the cost

It’s more like a tummy tuck with the lip added . I had a 22cm by 10cm section of the fat pad cut out and removed.

Lipo is one way it is reduced.
There are a couple other move involved procedures that are more invasive including surgically removing the fat and removing excess skin I believe that is what he may have had but not sure,
