Quester1.
Its all been said on this thread. Fill in your signature and get the best Dr you can find. When I finally went in the first time my back story was similar to you and a lot of men here, doc said we could try injections. I said can we skip to an implant? He said that’s what he would recommend as the injections could do further damage to my dick. Get a good pump keep up on it till surgery day and Welcome to the brotherhood

Hey guys, I’m back! from busy schedules of trips, holidays and other things! Just to follow up on my questions and your answers, let me tell you about my current situation and state of mind: my doctor (Dr Valenz———-, I really like him and trust that he has the best of my interest in mind) gave me the gel form of Trimix, which surprisingly works often (especially with oral stimulation), although I have a feeling that like the pills and injection, it can gradually lose effectiveness even when I upper the dosage, and is still not really spontaneous, although it IS a better alternative to injections.

With this in mind, I feel that the implant may still be the sensible final solution, although god I am still having so much apprehension! I worry my partner may not like it in placid state, and what about the “switch” which becomes now an additional ball in the scrotum; that any unplanned move in the operation might touch any nerve there that would affect sexual sensations (does that happen?), or some other issues-after all it is not reversible. In fact I even wondered if there’s any insurance against any failure, although how do you prove a lose of sensation? As well, I have high PSA, and although biopsies and MRIs found nothing so far, what if by any chance in future an operation related to the prostate may happen?

In the meantime, I also feel that as my retirement draws near (in just a few months), this might be a good time to do it, as I wonder if the coverage by Medicare (after retirement) would be the same as my current medical insurance, not to mention I am thinking of possibly living in another country, although it’s not a big deal staying in the country for couple of months…

Please kindly share your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. Thanks!

Have a great new year, folks!

Oh, one more thing: many of you mentioned the pump-before the operation. Is that for the purpose of enlarging or at least keeping your size when operation happens? It certainly is not a good way of obtaining an erection for me. Thanks.

If you have Medicare Part A & B and have private medical insurance through your employer, the implant should cost you nothing. On Medicare Part A alone it will not be covered.
Find a good men's sexual health urologist with lots of experience. Pumping is supposed to maintain length. Some docs recommend it, some don't, and some want you to stop before the surgery.

One of the top Drs in the country stated that you don’t get immune to pills and injections… never! It’s just that your issues that cause your ED are simply getting worse. Same Dr tells that once going down this road especially if it’s VL than it will never get better. I used pills for about ten years and the last several years I was using up to 20 mg cialis stacked with 100 mg viagra. And then that would fail sometimes half way thru sex. Them shots started out working great but was increasing 2-4 ccs every month which I could never seem to get right… either it would fade before I was done or it would stay hard for 4-5 hours and I would be eating Sudafed like candy and be up all night and so sore the next day. As for me I knew it was time as ED was kicking my tail. My only wish now is that I would have done it maybe a little sooner. How this is encouraging and you are able to make your deviants get on with your sex life!

Thanks, Oldguy and Rider, for sharing your story and thoughts. It seems everyone who has had implantation done are happy with it, are there anyone who is suffering from a failure and regret it? as well, while everyone is saying the penis looks and feels natural to the partner during sex, how does it look and feel to the touch, with the “alien stuff” inside, to the “owner” and sex partner, say in oral sex and manual (handjob) sex? And especially how does orgasm and ejaculation feel to the owner/patient? Look forward to hearing your experience and insight. Thanks a lot!

There are men who regret having had an implant. Most often the cause is a badly performed surgery which is why experience or the surgeon is so important. Unrealistic expectations are also a cause, but not so much if a man has done his research.

My penis (with an AMS LGX) looks perfectly normal both flaccid and erect, though if deflated completely (less than about 10% inflated) the flattening of the shaft is clearly visible, at 15% to 20% inflated it looks completely normal (though larger than my pre-surgery flaccid). When fully inflated, the cross-section of my shaft is more elliptical than the pre-surgical more rounded shape, but not so much as to be disconcerting.

A penis that does not change rigidity might be able to be noticed. Usually erections grow and subside on their own. Implant-powered eredtions are constant. Not something really noticeable to a partner until after orgasm. "Alien" feeling? Not at all.

I get the same “surfboard” shape as Lost Sheep when i’m pumped up but unaroused. Glans is soft and spongiosum (underside) is not engorged. When i pump up really hard and am aroused it looks mighty fine and regains more of an oval shape. The key is arousal and the ability to engorge still in those other areas.

My wife says my implanted dick feels fine. Not as good as the old natural erection, but damn close. To me it does feel a bit oval when fully pumped up, but sensations are the same as ever. Yea, I can feel the different "alien" stuff in there, but only because I know what it is. Oral sex feels great, but then it's rare I get oral, so..... The wife can give me a body shaking orgasm with a hand job. Ejaculation feels the same as it always was for me, although I put out very little ejaculate.
I will say I'm with many of the guys here, wish I had done it sooner. Pills and injections were not fun to deal with.

Basically get the implant, I have an AMS CX. I am more than pleased with it, so is the wife. She often comments on how nice and hard it is. I have noticed over the last couple of months my ejaculate shoots out more than before. She comments on how she can feel my cum shooting in her vagina more than before the implant.
I do not know if it is or not, I can't see it because the lights are always out when we have sec.

My wife is definitely having two orgasms each time. They seem to be very strong for her.i can feel her vagina contracting around my dick, that is how I know and her body reactions. I wish she would be more vocal and screaming but that was never her style before

Just get the implant and put all this ED frustration behind you
