I'm curious how common is it to have the surgery outpatient? Thanks in advance

Had mine outpatient and was two hours to get home,I had absolutely no problems!

I will also have about 2 hours to get home. My wife driving in Nashville traffic will be as stressful to me as the implant surgery! Ha!

I had my surgery outpatient on Dec 13th is Atlanta; I live about 2 hours from the hospital. I was out of the hospital by 10:30 AM. We stayed in a nearby hotel that night and drove home the next morning. I had a catheter during surgery, but it was removed before I woke up. He also inserted a drain which was removed by my wife two days later. Unlike many others, I experienced very little pain. It's really been the easiest surgery I've ever had. It's now been five days and I've been out in public many times. The biggest discomfort is soreness in my ball sack. I have a Dr visit scheduled one week postop to start cycling the implant.

Best of luck,
John

Mine was outpatient. Got there about 6 am, in surgery by 7:30, done and headed home before noon. Came home with the catheter and drain bag which I had to remove myself the next morning.
Truthfully if I had the choice I would have stayed overnight. Getting up to empty the bags was a pain, removing them was more of a pain.

I'm having mine implanted on Jan 4th. A bundle of nerves thinking about it all. I've read some scary stuff about recovery on this site and after reading your post all I can think is "please....let me be THAT guy". (Although, i'm mentally preparing for anything). Thanks for the encouragement.
