I'm curious, if anyone knows, what causes an immediate size loss after surgery. It seems real because many men report it, but I don't understand the mechanics of it. I'm pre surgery, waiting for a scheduled date and I'm honestly not too concerned about size. My doc stretched my dick out from my body and said "this will be your post op size". I've also heard Perido say on videos that any size loss comes from lack of erections prior to surgery. I could see if you don't start cycling when you can that you might lose size, but why right after the surgery?

The "this will be your post op size" thing is inflated size, after the implant has had time to stretch the tissue out around it. Not supposed to mean the second you wake up after surgery.

I understand that... so you think the guys that are complaining about this are comparing their previous erect size with a non inflated size after surgery? I just wondered if there was something about the trauma of the surgery itself that made the penis smaller afterwards.

Wyatt,

One factor is swelling around the base of the penis, your implant is anchored inside of you, when the tissues at the base swell up it makes you dick look short. The swelling comes down gradually, but it takes a good 10-14 days.

Just after surgery, until your first in office checkup, is not the time to be worried about this, you will be driving yourself crazy. If you have concerns at the time of you first checkup address your concerns to your doctor.

Doctors know the preservation of length is a huge concern for guys, so I am sure they do the best they can to see you don't lose length. They don't want to hear about it or have you spread bad news about their practice.

My doctor, at the hospital, just before going into the operating rooms said, "We size aggressively here" so he knew it was on my mind without me saying anything.
Used Viagra & Cialis until lost vision in one eye due to AION, therefore can never use pills again, then tri-mix 1 1/2 years until unreliable. Implanted 9/20/22 at 77 years old by Dr. Yafi, UC Irvine. Married 55 years wife 76. 20cm Coloplast Titan.

I would suggest that this is a question you ask of any doctor you interview PRIOR to wheeling you into the operating room. ;)

I met with a Kaiser Permanente doctor whom was very nice, very knowledgeable and seemed completely qualified to perform the implant surgery. When I asked him how he felt about aggressively sizing, he said that he felt it was more important to stay on the safe side, so there would be no erosion or issues related to oversizing. I asked him on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the biggest implant he could stuff into me, and 1 being an implant the size of me flaccid, he said he might be about a 6. (tough question to quantify, I get it). He then held out my penis and said that this is probably what I'd end up with.

I walked out of that appointment, didn't make another one and started looking for another doc. I wouldn't go through all this for what he showed me I'd end up with.

I then met with a doc and one of my first questions was about sizing, he quickly volunteered that he was very aggressive on sizing and understood that is a basic concern of all men. He recommended I start pumping to regain some stretch and assured me I'd be happy with the outcome. He would measure me during the surgery and round up as much as he could.

Bottom line is, I could pay $25 copay at Kaiser for an implant, instead I'll pay $20,000 out of pocket. This is not something I'm shopping price on.

I'm about at 6 months out and it's a little over 7. I went from 5 girth wise to 5 and 5/8 girth. It was shorter after surgery but came back quickly. no complaints here. Exercising it twice daily.
