1) Several medical students came to my room after the operation but I never saw the surgeon.
2) They gave me discharge papers with an appointment scheduled for yesterday. The doctor apparently told his secretary to reschedule it but no one told me about it.
3) No information packet about the model number, specs and no wallet card.
4) I called the office one day last week and left a voice message when the pain was excruciating. A nurse called me back 3 days later.
My takeaway: Loyola needs to have better post-operative communication.
This is the major disadvantage of managed-care compared to private-business doctors. Private ones like Eid, Hakky, Clavell, and others will provide their personal cellphone numbers. You can call or text them anytime, and they will get back to you as soon as they can. Sometimes, in less than 10 minutes.
