Depends on how long it takes for you to get to the beach. If you live in Malibu, maybe a few minutes. In Kansas, a day or so.

I would not let ANY non-sterile water touch me until my incision(s) were COMPLETELY healed! Pools, hot tubs, rivers, ocean, nothing. Even my own shower or tub, neither.

I would say at least six weeks or longer just to be safe. Examine your incision(s), or have someone else do it to be absolutely certain your skin is water-tight and presents a bacteria-proof barrier to all intrusions. But I am a cautious guy. Not so much that I wear suspenders and belt, but considering the downside of an infection, discretion is the better part of valor.

An infection taking hold at three weeks may be a low-probability event, but it is a HIGH-consequence event.

Thanks, so I don't even have to wash?

Wash with antiseptic (surgical grade) soap. VERY carefully and gently and only when given the go-ahead from your surgeon (for a time after surgery, you don't want to manipulate the skin at all, lest the incision open up). Then, after washing apply antibiotic ointment. Your medical team should give you explicit instruction. If they are variance from anything I tell you, follow your medical team's instructions, not mine.

thank you, although I will have to follow the doctor you have been very helpful, some things are better to know before, even if they will be told to you, this way if they are not told I will remind them, some doctors may assume that the patient knows

Sheep what did you use to wipe down your scrotum and penis after surgery for the 6 weeks afterward? Hibiclens? Did you use a clean wash rag or just your hands and some soap?
Fifty-one years old. ED started at age forty. I took Cialis for eight years and used Trimix for almost three. Implanted 12/6/22 by Dr. Jonathan Clavell. AMS 700CX 21cm.

First couple of days, no touching the incision site at all. Just changing dressing and applying antibiotic ointment. If there had been substantial weeping/bleeding/dishcharge, swabbing with sterile gauze would be appropriate and if that were not adequate, reporting to my surgeon or emergency room.

For the next several days washing was OK, Hibiclens, which was provided to me. Not by hand or washhcloth, though, but by sterile gauze and rinsing a couple times with a fresh sterile gauze and application of ointment and a dressing.

After about 10 days, the wound was pretty much sealed up, so the twice daily dressing change and antibiotic ointment lessened to once daily and after the swelling and tenderness went down and I was authorized to take showers normal soap and water was used. (Note: I do not use a washcloth normally, so hands and soap was it-and no vigorous scrubbing
