If you are considering Amtrak ask if they have a “roomette” available (sleeper car). The steward could put the bed down for you so you could travel laying down.

I’ve taken it between NYC Penn Station and Albany during COVID just because I wanted the separation from other people. I’m not sure if they have it on the trip to Buffalo but I’m guessing they do.

Well I have an suv coming for me with a reclining seat so I should be ok and it will drive me rifjt tot the border

How about just taking some aspirin or acetaminophen before hand to knock any possible fever down a couple of degrees?
