p.s. Why do some surgeons use RTE's in stead of the proper length cylinders.

As I understand it, to position the tubing where they exit the implant. That spot has to be close enough to the incision so the tubing will allow the pump to sit in a good spot.

I gather that the incision is placed before the surgeon knows the depth of the crus, otherwise the positioning might be more precisely predicted BEFORE the cut is made.

Sorry for my lack of understanding, I spent most of my research finding a doctor who knows what they're doing and still dont even know what things like "RTE" stand for.

I told my surgeon how deep my cruse was as I could feel it when using tri-mix. He located the incision right below my pubic bone and needed 5.5 cc of rte to get the hoses coming out properly and the implant securely planted into the bottom of my cruse.
