I’m
Heading to NY Probably for a week
(Three days before Procedure for
Covid protocols and a few days after)

I’ll be in a hotel alone and will have to fly back three days after the surgery

Guys
Do I have to pull out my own catheter??
Wtf that sounds aweful

What else happens after surgery ?

Keep the plastic urinal they have at the hospital. Peeing while inflated is a challenging exercise in target shooting. You will appreciate all the help you can get. Sure, go tho the bathroom, but pee in the urinal and pour the urine into the toilet.

Doctors are t alike either.
By time I was in recovery catheter was out.
Drain went home with me but suctioning and emptying it was simple. They took it out on first follow up day 3.
Lost sheep makes a great point about plastic urinal. I didn’t make it home with mine so I cut a 2 liter soda bottle in half and used it like a funnel over toilet.

I was alone and the thing that is important is to have everything you need set up in your room you will need after the surgery. Ice packs (I used bags of dry beans). Wound care. Food and beverages if room service is not wanted or available. Over the counter meds. Cath removal was no big deal but I was kept over night and the removal was done in the hospital before I left. I had surgery on Wednesday and most fly back on Saturday but I stayed to the following Monday and few in the prior Monday and had a discount for a weeks stay that was reasonable. But I think I would have had an easier plane ride on Saturday than Monday. I had notified airlines about assistance but really did not need it. The thing that I needed help with is I had a 10lb weight restriction. So make sure your luggage is the roller type. I took 2 with one that fit in the other. One had meals and collapsible containers for making up flavored water I like to drink. Wound care products. A clean Jock strap. I was concerned about infection and I had new under ware I washed in bleach and put in plastic baggies. Alcohol wipes. Eid used to want men to soak in a bath with a cup of bleach in the water. Don't know if that is still true or not as not many hotel rooms have tubs anymore. So I was in town for a week and when I was ready to leave I was able to put the smaller piece of luggage in the larger. I left a few items behind that I did not use and had no need for back at home. I loaded it on my bed and slide it off and rolled it down and had the cab guy lift it in and out of the cab and asked a guy in line at the airport to lift it onto the scale for me.

This is something we do for ourselves. There was a study that showed nearly have of men with ED tell no one. Not a doctor, spouse or anyone. I was one of those for a long time. So there are these meeting that are held on ED that used to happen all over. And a man who had an implant would speak and answer questions. I watched a video and he said his wife due to issues of her own had no or very little interest is sex anymore. That he did the implant for him as with you this effects so much more than sex. I think they also had a wife that was at some of them to speak to the females about this also.

I was single and had no other significant other to be involved in this. Can be a blessing or a hinderance. And I was lucky in that prior to surgery a light clicked on and holly cow I was so happy. I was going to be whole again. So I was really excited and stayed busy getting ready. When that light came on it was truly life changing. My mood really improved. When I come in contact with a grumpy guy now I often wonder if ED is the cause. I know it was with me. Some men have that light click on early and others including a recent member on this board go into surgery with out it clicking on. It's up to you. You can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Some have a longer tunnel is all. So focus on that light as much as you do the tunnel. Just think of all those men in the hole of ED alone that tell no one and live there. If you can get that light to click on and it is life changing like is was with me, I am sure your wife will notice and she might change her mind about this. Stay busy with family and getting ready. Others really noticed the difference in me and you have a reason to be happy. You made a plan and you are going to have this part of you back again. Your wife may even have issues of her own she is not telling anyone about and you might ask about that. She may not want to talk about it if she is like the men with ED that don't talk with spouses or doctors. You might even want to try to talk with a counselor or clergy person about this. And of course you can call me anytime. I am not trained as a counselor but the price is free save the phone call.

Take care friend.

How to pee with a hard dick. So many times it's mentioned to take the hospital bottle.

You have a perfect urinal. Bath tub. Stand up, piss like a man. Run the shower as a Flush.

Shower stall only? Even better. By day ___x__ as doctor approved, stand in shower, heat your Unit, piss at same time.

We all did this as children....

The plastic urinal did not work for me in bed. As said you need to stand up to use it. Thing is you most likely will have the cath in for 3 days and Eid will deflate you and maybe have you start cycling. But you still may have weird stream angles for a while or even spray a bit. This will settle down with time if it happens and should not be something you have to deal with as much as a man who is left inflated for weeks after surgery.
