There's no easy answer. There should have been more nuance though I feel.
There are people over here dying because of lack of cancer care. Including children, old folks with worn out hips.

It is a world class problem. Who gets care & how much care. We had a young male stage actor die recently. Spent 91 days in intensive care unit. Lost a leg before he finally died. A week before his death. They said that he would need a lung transplant.
In most areas of the USA, as long as you don't need ICU care. There are options.
I'm typing this while sitting in my Drs. exam room. I walked in to order a refill on a drug that I take. Remembered that I haven't had an A1C test for a while. He had an open appointment. I got in to see him in less than 30 minutes.

My dr said my operation was not even considered elective because I needed it for quality of life. I wonder if an implant is also considered a quality of life operation. You may consider Keck as a west coast alternative.
. Total of 23 days from time I had a teleconference with my doctor till the operation day. Down side of coming from out of town is, you have to get a covid test within 48 hrs of the operation. If it came up positive you would be screwed. Couldn't get the operation and not allowed back on a plane. This hospital is only 90 miles from my house. Wish me luck. I will have 2 pumps in my sack when done. Squeeze the wrong one and I will piss all over my wife. OH! I forgot, that is what happenes now without the AUS.
