I am just curious HOW they feed the lines down in there. I have tried to picture different ways to do it but it is just not coming to me. I have been in the OR for several procedures, just nothing like that... Maybe if I ever find out I will wish I didn't know :D :D

Not down, up. That metal tool you see in the surgery will hold a needle and line. It goes up like the measuring rod when the cylinders are ready to go in. Once loaded with needle and line and inserted up in the glands they can push the needle and line trough the end and out the top of the glands. After they are done they just pull one of the 2 strands of line to remove it.

That's how mine was done. Of all the pain, swelling, inconvenience, lingering soreness, I never felt anything in that area. You would think that the most sensitive part of your penis would at least be sore, but I never noticed a thing. There are no scars, or remaining marks that would even let you know it had been done. If I were to attribute ANYTHING to these strings through the glans, it might be that in the first few attempts at sex, an orgasm was not assured (lack of sensitivity maybe). But it has all come back, no problem. I was told "It won't FEEL normal for 6 months." They were right...maybe 7 months! But I am 9 months out and everything is as back to normal as I can remember. The whole operation is gross to watch or imagine...Cutting open your penis.scrotum, reaming out the tissues in the penis and in the body to place the cylinders, using strings through the glans to place everything, hanging off the pump in your scrotum which was plenty crowded beforehand...appeals to me about as much as cleaning out a stopped up sewer pipe. But in the end it all works out.

The thread was attached to the cylinder and exited the glans. The thread was then pulled from outside the penis, pulling the cylinder into place. I have also seen surgeries where this technique did not seem to be used.

Is this always done?

If not, what determines when it is used?

Yes that is what they call the snake bite after surgery.

Ii bellieve the alternative method is to grip the soft inflatable tube just below the hard tip with Hemostats and guide it into the channel that way.

Thank-you.

The surgical guide can answer many common questions.

All...thanks for the description, references, and links! I was prepared to question my surgeon this Wednesday (5/16) about this and 20+ other items that you, my brothers, have highlighted in preparation for my procedure on 7/16. I'm still going to have him describe the method he'll use since I've been told he will install a Coloplast Titan OTR. I've watched many procedure videos and always wondered how the surgeon did the cylinder insertions. Maybe I'm glad that your reference was in pictures and words vice video. UGH!! Not sure I could have sat still watching but, logically, it makes perfect sense. Glad I won't be awake for that, watching any monitors, as I will be a few days before when I undergo a colonoscopy without sedation. I like to watch that show but shrink from my implant procedure. I've decided to take some before and after pics of my nether region just as a point of reference for my files. So much learning on this site!! Thanks again!! Edd :o
