Why can breast implants accommodate any size - but penile implants are limited to the current size of the flesh?

I'm sure many people have wondered this, and perhaps there is a really good epidermic answer....but how come a young flat chested woman, with taunt tight skin, can go into a plastic surgeons office and literally look at a catalog and choose whether she wants to be a C, D, DD or DDD cup, but in the world of penile implants one is considered lucky to come out with the length that they had when they went in? Do not the same principles of human skin stretching (thereby accommodating the implant) apply?..... or is it a different type of tissue, and therefore subject to different rules?

Yes, the cylinders are placed in the tunica albuginea, which resist stretching.

Yes, as FredyFree said, Skin has different stretching characteristics than the tissue of the tunica albuginea.

Tunica tissues provide structure when inflated by your blood (in a naturally occurring erection). WShile the implant CAN provide adequate structure to support an erection sufficieent for penetrative sex, the implant is plalced inside the tunica, thus limiting your erection's length. Girth seems to be a bit more elastic, though not by much.

Another limiting factor is the length of your urethra. If your erection was significantly longer than your urethra, it may separate and your urine (and semen) would wind up in places it does no good to be in.
