Theres no future in injecting

Postby Floppy » Sat Aug 04, 2018 4:40 pm

Its only been a little over 2 months since my RRP. Before I was not getting reliable results with pills, the surgery was with Dr. Patel in Fl. I chose him because of his experience and recommendations from friends. The tumor was within a mm of the capsule so he had to take out one bundle of nerves. Since the week after the surgery I've been taking Viagra daily and full doses once a week to no avail Zero response. Started with Trimix instructed by my Uro. The pain was intolerable after 5 injections increasing the dose up to 40 units of 30-1-20 the only result was a semi with more pain every time. I've tried Bimix 50-60 units 30-2 no pain no erection worthy of use.
So with that history I've made up my mind to get implanted I have been approved for surgery on 26th of Oct. with Dr. Eid . I've spoken with him and feel he's the guy that I feel I'm most comfortable with.
I live 200 miles from NY and don't know wether to fly or drive the travel at both ends will likely result in the same amount of elapsed time from point A to B. My lovely wife of 35 years will accompany me for the trip.
Im looking for any tips or recommendations on the process. Hotels, how long to stay, what to do when I get home, should I go back to be activated, who should I get to take out the stitches. I don't think I want to go back to my local Uro. He wasn't to happy I went elsewhere for the surgery he only employs the open method more pain for the same result.
.
Born 1952,
RRP 6/1/18 Viagra worked prior to RRP
Trimix painful didn't work Bimix didn't work either
Implanted Titan 20CM 1CM rte
10/26/18 Dr. Eid
Great experience

You can take out your own stitches easy enough if you have them. I seem to recall Dr. Eid used glue but maybe he uses that as a sealer. There is also the dissoluble type suture though with me, my body either will not dissolve them all the way or spits them out in a puss eruption. Most everyone else I know does fine with dissoluble. I do think the doctor method and skill make a difference in travel. First implant my wife drove me home. Every bump on the road was brutal but we have a sports suspension car which is stiff anyway. If you are cruising in a soft ride Town Car or Buick, that may not be your case. Flying was easier for me but a much longer trip. Take the hospital plastic urinal with you to pee. You will not be able to use a rest area bathroom w/o a lot of trouble. If you are not provided one, bring one from home or ask. Does Dr. Eid still require you to stay a few days before travel? I had no follow-up after either surgery. I was not driving 4 hours to see a nurse practitioner nor putting up with 1 more second of the Milam/staff arrogance nor any more of their med screw ups. Prior to the Kramer implant, I called around to see who would do follow-up if needed. The closest doctor who would was 160 miles away and he is truly a sweet guy but I did not need to see him. Local docs and all the way to St. Louis said if I did not get the implant from them they would not see me. Fuckem. Dr. Eid is a generous guy and I am sure he will show you and have you inflate and deflate before he dismisses you for travel. Getting an implant right away I think is a very very smart move. I wish I had been told they existed after my prostatectomy and not wasted years of frustration and more $ than a cash out of pocket implant would have cost trying to get a working dick. My wife said to mention that all the trials and failures were 8 years of hell. Cheers man.

You picked the right doctor and IMO, the best in the field.....his staff is very helpful also..... Dr. Eid & staff will give you all the advice and answer your questions above and beyond the call of duty, so call & get that info ahead of time.....there is a hotel within walking distance to Dr. Eid's office and they can give you that info also....(I don't remember the name)

Personally, I would stay 4-5 days, depending upon your healing process.....I understand that Dr. Eid now has people cycling in 4 days, so if you can do everything & get set in 1 trip, I believe that would be the most efficient route to take

If your wife drives you may be better off with that mode of transportation since it's only 200 miles.....that way you don't have to deal with airports plus transportation to & from....

Could you borrow a motor home? Being able to recline during the trip would be a blessing.

Getting through the airport semi-erect might be embarrassing for some me. But if you fly, ask the airline for a wheelchair.

Good luck.

I'm not implanted (yet), but I think if I had very bad pain and iffy results from injecting, I'd do the implant.
Lucky you live so close to NYC. I used to live in Rochester.

I've contemplated even driving the 2200 miles to Baltimore if I need an Implant. From all I hear, that wouldn't be smart.

For peeing, I like keeping a "Little John" in the console of my truck.
Don't use it while driving. I did that and almost got a ticket when the speed limit changed.

Inject testosterone weekly.
Implant on 1/22/19 by Dr Avila.

Gleason 6 prostate cancer. Monitoring it for now.
Update: On my last biopsies the cancer wasn't found.

I live 200 miles from NYC and will be Dr. Eid's 1st surgical patient on Tuesday morning and plan on a 4 + hour trip home and out of the city and back home with my wife driving. I also plan on being awake during surgery. Not often you get to watch a world-class master practice his trade.

Hopefully the spinal will not wear completely off too fast. If so, I will take a pain pill and grit my teeth.
Prostatectomy 2004-Bimix caused Peyronies-Viagra had little effect. Active sex life with wife of 50 yrs- been dependent on a VED for 10 yrs. 22cm Titan w/Dr. Eid Aug 7th See my Implant Journal -> http://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/board,56.0.html

YIKES!!!
80, started ED issues in late 50's. Used Viagra, Cialis with some success but unreliable, expensive and side effects not acceptable. Started using Trimix 11/2016 and quit being effective. Implanted on May 22, 2014 by Dr Dean Knoll. AMS 700.

Cost of travel, meals, hotels and chance of picking up an infection in a less than stellar hotel, I would fly that distance. A good deal on airfare and it is a wash. Pee bottle is a good idea. Cheers.
