Besides the ultrasound they did to determine VL, I had an EKG prior to surgery along with the blood tests.

Dr. Eid does a cystoscopy to make sure there will be no problems inserting the catheter due to strictures. That might be only because I had radiation I am not sure.

He also requires an EKG and a duplex Doppler ultrasound to determine penile blood flow and regular blood tests.
Prostatectomy 2004-Bimix caused Peyronies-Viagra had little effect. Active sex life with wife of 50 yrs- been dependent on a VED for 10 yrs. 22cm Titan w/Dr. Eid Aug 7th See my Implant Journal -> http://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/board,56.0.html

Usually before actually performing the surgery they require a general physical along with an EKG, blood work, a chest x-ray, patient medical history, and possibly a referal from your PCP .
Possibly a stress test or others if the EKG and history warrant it.
One of the concerns is for the anesthesia.

I have never had so many tests in so short a time in my life! My pcp gave me an upper physical then blood work and urine and EKG. He didn't like the EKG so off to a specialist.I passed that with flying colors , questions and feel my pulse and a quick listen to my heart. The pcp didn't like the urine sample so back to pee in another bottle for culture. Passed that too. Next up my uro. He checked for hernias then checked my penis and testacles,(yup, still there!) did another urine test and PSA blood work. Set me up for a doppler to test for scarring and plaque in my penis. I have heavy plaque and scarring. This urine showed blood so now I have a cytology (bladder scope )(oh fun I' did that one last year!) I had a doppler earlier showing good blood flow and a venous leakage of 6 both sides. Next to my second opinion surgeon. He checked for hernias, squeezed my penis and stretched it said I was soft and elastic then asked me to turn around and hold on to the bed. Good advice. Felt like a jack hammer went in. He was testing for lumps in my prostate. Picked up my PSA est is normal. So hopefully the cysto will be too. That is only 2 days before surgery so it had better be ok. Any way I think that we all had about the same. Good luck
