How long to regain length?

Postby ccm123 » Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:55 am

Hi,
I had a revision performed late last year and the Dr. used the AMX 700 Ultrex for the replacement. The Dr. told me I should gain close to a full inch, in length, with this implant and told me I would see the improvement immediately. This did not happen. I am almost two months post surgery and my length is the same as before the revision. I would like to hear from others, who have the AMS 700, as to how long it takes to get the length increase. Also how often do you activate your device and how long to you leave it activated? Mr. Dr. did not instruct me to activate on a regular basis.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hey my name is Steve and I was implanted with the AMS LGX 700 over 3 months ago and I lost 2 inches! I was and still am pissed off about this! I was told that I could lose and inch and would eventually regain what I lost. I was 5 1/2 inches before my surgery and I am now 3 1/2 inches and over the 3 months since my surgery I have not gained NOTHING!!! I look like a small child and my wife is struggling with having to have sex with me. I am going back to see my doctor on Feb. 10th. The instructions I was given after surgery was to pump it up to a 7 on the 0 to 10 pain score and if the pain went down pump back up to a 7 and keep it there for an hour. After about 20 minutes I was always hurting so bad that I had to release all the pressure from the implant, When I called back to discuss this problem, I was told to pump it up until I first felt a hint of pain and to keep it pumped up for an hour. By the time an hour goes by, The pain is so extreme that I am glad the hour is over because I don't feel I could take anymore. I don't want to spend the rest of my life with a 3 1/2 inch dick, but I don't know what he is gonna tell me to do about it until my appointment on Feb. 10th. I am crushed that this has happened to me. Is there a way of extending it after the implant, even if it takes another surgery?

What size was your LGX? Can you feel the tips when you pump it? Where are they in relation to your glans? I gather there was a lot of scar tissue from previous surgeries you had?

Sorry, no answers from me, just questions.

I had 5.5 inches perhaps before my prostate cancer surgery nearly 4 years ago. After my implant, I'm probably sporting maybe the 3.5 to 4 inches you so vehemently despise. I'm glad to be able to get it up after all this time and could care less about the length, though it would be a nice gift if it happens. I was never promised by my surgeon that I would gain length, but he said I could...but what I've read is it can take up to 18 months, if it happens. IF. My wife sees my girth a hugely different from before...I don't see it, but she does. Your complaining about 3.5 inches is disparaging to those of us who are that size, complaining you look like you're a small child. Would I want more? Yes. Does it make a difference in my life? No. My wife is glad to have me alive after my prostate cancer and would never think of being critical of my size. Sorry, but I don't share your disdain for a shortie.

Bar --
What a healthy and sane response. I too lost length and it would be nice to regain -- but I am alive and healthy following PCa surgery -- something that took my father's life back many years ago.
best regards

My LGX is up in the glans on one side and maybe a 1/4 inch less on the other side and I was never told what length it was after my surgery. Also to you who have been so offended by my being upset by my size after my surgery. I just found out my wife, that I love with all my heart, had an affair last month after waiting 2 1/2 years for me to be able to make love to her again, When I asked why she did this and if there was anything that I had done, she told me that I had not done anything wrong, but she was turned off by my "new size" and that she got more from me using my finger on her than me making love to her. So sorry to offend you, it's just this surgery has turned my world upside down. I guess not every woman, like your wife, is so understanding!

Steveb...I want to apologize to you for being insensitive to your situation. I am sorry to hear that your wife had an affair becaues of your new size. You feel the way you feel about your implant...and are entitled to those feelings. Being a shortie myself, I am glad to have what I have. I know I'd be upset as well if I'd lost the length you did. My loss came from my prostate surgery, not the implant. Please accept my apology and I hope things improve for you.

I think there must be some sort of "guaranteed" minimum length discovered upfront and promised by the doctor. That would be up to a patient to agree; and if he does and the doc fails to deliver the promised lenght that should be a subject of a malpractice case.
I cannot believe some docs are that inexperienced that they would place cylinders causing 2" of shortage. That simply doesn't make any sense.
I am going to have a conversation with my doc and if he will not promise me at least 5.5" I'll prefer no op at all. There is no point in there - what's the difference of having a long dick that doesn't work; or a short one that is useless due to its shortage? At least the first option doesn't require money spending nor has problems associated with the surgery recovery and further maintenance.

As soon as you require a guarantee of any kind on any medical procedure, the only thing you will guarantee is an end to that procedure.

And that's a fact.

I know. Unfortunately this is like with the lawyers - the money are taken but the result is "optional"...
Still I think excessive shortage should be a subject of malpractice...
