I had my original revision due to terrible placement of the tips of cylinders practically just under the skin on bottom of glans.and a basically herniating reservoir. The Dr I used that made this mess was supposedly a good high volume Dr but turns out he was not good at his craft at all. .

I'm in NYC but I can't see Dr Eid because he doesn't accept my Medicaid bundled with a community insurance. I can see Dr Hillelsohn though who does accept it.

Who was the doctor who messed up your implant? How did you know know he was NOT high volume after all? Did he also do your revision?

Looking forward to your reply!

As I mentioned in my 1st post, my doctor is Dr Hillelsohn with whom I'm considering to have an implant. He said that before an implant, he must do an ultrasound 1st which I dont want because that entails injection with trimix to get an erection and I've had bad experiences with trimix in the past. I really dont want trimix injection.

Instead of trimix, is it possible to use VED instead for the ultrasound?

Dr Tavis Shaw (spelling is correct, not "Travis", but "Tavis")

Active duty Air Force at the time. Now (I believe) in private practice in Anchorage, AK.

I thought you were debating between Hillelsohn and Hakky, but OK. And again, I'm not an expert, but I think they need you to be as firmly erect as possible for X amount of time to get a reliable ultrasound. The VED doesn't do that as well (for me, anyway) and expands tissue differently so they might not be able to get as clear an image as they need. Trimix isn't fun, but if the doc says they need to use that, well... your choice might be yes or no.

I was until the 12k price tag came up for the clinical trial associated with Hakky. I thought that clinical trial was free. But since I have medicaid I can have the implant with Hillelsohn for free.

If I say no, I dont think the doc will implant me. Hopefully if injecting is a requirement before the surgery I'll ask if he can lower the dose or use a less potent injection.
