Children are covered by their parents policy, small discount for seniors, but there is a surcharge for every year you are over 30 that you haven't had insurance, for the first 10 years, and a government subsidy on premiums that reduces once your income is over 105K. Add to that we all pay a 2% Medicare Levy with our income tax which increases if you don't have insurance and earn over 105K.
Need a finance degree to understand it!

Oh LGXDownunder tried to explain it to me once. My head is still hurting from trying to wrap myself around it.
I thought the US system was complex before reading his (and your) accounts. Now I'm not so sure. After all you got to compare. :P

But we got a new (old) president who at the end of his rule intends to make it all "free market". Then all would be really simplified with you getting "what you deserve and not a penny more!"
This just happened https://abcnews.com/Health/trump-admini ... =135176506

but to paraphrase an old Carpenters song "He only just began" :D

How are you doing man? My head also hurts whenever I try and explain it . The Carpenters feature strongly in the soundtrack of my life. "Yesterday once more" is probably my favourite. Always makes me sad though when I think about Karen Carpenter.

Welcome to the brotherhood and welcome to the Aussie thread.
3 weeks is just starting the healing journey.
It all gets better and better from here.
ED since my 40s, managed by pills.
Increasingly severe BPH, emergency HoLEP prostatectomy Nov 2021.
Fixed the prostate but pills slowly became less and less effective.

Hey All,

Been a while probably too long, of course we all know how fast life wizzes by! Still on the contemplating fence but getting closer to saying what the f..k, just do it! Lots going on in life with the wife in final stages of being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers disease so a lot of my mental spare time is spent “Supervising” at home, she 53 yo and myself 55 so there is a lot of life planning happening atm.

Intimacy for us is fastly becoming non-existent and certainly no chance of any PIV action with my 7 year limpy, the VED use even for preservation purposes is becoming more and more a chore not getting much use. I'm essentially losing my companion in life and pretty well (in my mind) co-existing under the same roof, she's been laid off at her job last year due to inability to maintain focus and attentiveness while I'm transitioning to retirement in the new year but seems like the joy that should come in this stage of life is disappearing. I'm still contemplating the implant to maintain my own wishful thinking of having someone in my life as a friend/companion in all ways, this may need to come from outside the family home eventually, not about to dump my responsibilities of supporting my wife through this difficult time and of course this could go on for a loong time. I still need to consider my own mental health along this journey.

I've never been unfaithful and don't intend to but I will probably be seeking a companion at some time and may call upon some female friends and/or colleagues for advice and or setup if they know someone appropriate. Don't want to get into the situation where I meet someone but having the non-performing limpy will certainly be a detractor to progress the relationship. Life has no manual or playbook to follow, most of the time there are foggy skies ahead, but occasionally you just want to sit on a beach somewhere with someone you can have some fun without the normal stress/pressures of life.

Hope all this comes across as compassionate but at the same time optimistic of what life can be, just looking for a little re-assurance that I'm thinking about an implant for the right reasons.
