I’m new to this forum.. It seems there are several post like this.. but, I am 12 days from surgery and really stressing. Worried sick about an infection which seems like a horrible potential outcome. Not sure the purpose of the post, I guess looking for a little encouragement. I am not diabetic, but I guess I have prediabetic glucose level of 118…

Welcome to the brotherhood destguest . We can give you some reassurance that while infections do happen, they are quite rare and the majority of procedures are successful and clean. I was paranoid about infection for the first 4 weeks or so because I had some weeping along the penoscrotal incision. I kept referring back to my surgeon, who said that all is normal and no need to worry. I'm sure he got tired of me sending him photos of it. And he was right, everything healed up nicely over time, infection free.

I know very little but a quick search suggests that your pre diabetic glucose level creates only a slightly higher risk of infection. My wife was type 2 diabetic but lost a lot of weight using Ozempic and other strategies. Her glucose levels are now within normal range and she is no longer considered diabetic. She is still being monitored by her doctor but much less frequently.

Recovery from implant surgery can be challenging and stressful at times but try to relax. Look forward to when you can use your new bionic weapon . It has been a game changer for me and many others. Of course if you do have genuine concerns that something isn't right, reach out to your medical team. And please ask questions here as needed. I'm also happy to answer private messages.

The good news is that you are day 12 and no sign of infection. That’s great.

So keep following your doctors recommendations. Only begin showering when you are approved to do so. Same with soaking in a bathtub. Don’t cycle or begin sex until given the soak by YOUR doc. (You’ll hear different guys are told different instructions. Only follow your doctor’s instructions.)

Thanks, for the relys, encouragement, however my surgery is 12 days out vs 12 days post..

Even though i am scheduled for surgery i am still have concerns Im making a mistake. After several years Pills stopped working (along with experiencing some bad side affects). I’ve been using bimix with mostly success for the past year. I pursued the implant route mainly due to spontaneity and hassle with injections, i.e., travel, etc..
