Distal Measurement/Proximal Measurement/BPEL Measurement

Postby stewie77 » Thu Jul 02, 2026 9:30 pm

I think it would beneficial if newly implanted and Veterans shared their Distal/Proximal/BPEL/Type of Implant/Date of Implant

Feel free to ddop any cycling tips and tricks.

Distal 13/proximal 10/7 inches bpel/rigicon ax/march 2026
Became bionic 3/2026. Hakky - rigicon infla10ax 23 cm (22+1 rte). Chronic ed - tried pills, ved, bimix/trimix. Had mild venous leak on doppler. Took the plunge when ultrasound showed fibrosis and i knew it was only a matter of time before i needed one

Is distal size the same as visible penis size?

no. your visual is the BPEL...bone pressed ERECT (Your penis is aroused) Length

Distal is what the doctor measured for implant.

Stewie, My details are below. Just curious, what is your purpose with this survey? The distal and proximal measurements are only surgical reference points from the incision, which has variable placement. They often cause confusion because guys think distal represents the actual penis length. It doesn't. For example distal doesn't fully account for the glans length as the cylinder tips don't go all the way to the end. And the surgical incision could be an inch up the penis shaft from the base, especially for a penoscrotal approach.

Distal 11 cm
Proximal 10 cm
BPEL 6.5 inches
AMS 700 LGX 21 cm with no RTEs, MS pump
March 6 2025

Your implant and distal/proximal measurements are longer than mine but my BPEL is longer. I think it's difficult to make any predictions based on distal/proximal etc as individual anatomies vary widely. For example some guys have a deep crus relative to the distal length and vice versa.

Tips etc for cycling. I've found the Perito exercise to be useful. My surgeon has his own take on it by holding the penis at each of the cardinal compass points for about 30 seconds. After 16 months I have reached the point of the bulb going soft when pumped really hard. Perito can give me a few more pumps and make me even harder.

Also recently I accidentally discovered a "trick" with my MS pump. When it goes soft I very briefly press deflate and release a small amount of fluid. Then quickly pump again and it gives more pumps with an increase in pressure over the previous level. Not recommending anyone try it but it seems to work for me.
71, married, Sydney Oz. PC/nerve sparing RRP Mar 2022 caused 100% total ED. Tried pills, Trimix inj, focal shockwave, VED. All failed. Implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal. Got back to 6.5" BPEL @ 9m. Loving it.

Distal and proximal measurements are not going to be apples to apples across patients, because a lot depends on incision location. That said mine are:

14cm / 14cm / 8.5” / Coloplast Titan 28cm / October 21, 2025
59yo Coloplast Titan 28cm Penoscrotal with Dr. Hakky 10/21/2025.
Pre-op erect measurements:
8.5"L and 6.5"C

Post-op: 8”L and 6”C at one week.
8.5” and 6”C at three weeks with full glans engorgement

Agreed with ElbowRoom. The distal and proximal measurements in the surgical report are how the surgeon determines the total length of your corporal bodies. Add them up, and they are equal to the length of the implant plus RTEs they put inside you. But they don’t bear a relationship to your dick length. Most guys have a BPEL that is 2/3 to 3/4 of their total implant size, while the distal/proximal measurements from surgery are usually closer to 50/50.
Born 1974. Implanted 5/21/2024. AMS 700 CX 21cm, 3cm RTE. Penoscrotal. Venous leak my whole life. Pills helped, but hated the side effects; worked less as I aged. Skipped injections. Grateful to bionic brotherhood that helped me make this decision.

Can you expect that the measured distal length + gland length, will become your approx penis size after implant?

E.g. distal length is 10 cm and gland length is 3 cm, then you get a visible penis after implant of 13 cm?
