Did Hakky elaborate on the improvements? There are very little details except what is on Coloplast site which is very limited.

I had a conversation with Dr. Hakky last week and asked him about the improvements. The big one is the use of Bioflex on the tubes, which is the same material as the cylinders. It’s extremely abrasion-resistant, and should dramatically increase implant lifespan, since tubing failures are the primary failure mode of the Titan implants.

Other improvements are a higher deflate button that is easier to find and activate, and a change to the cylinders to reduce the possibility of “dog ears”. ÌIRC the cylinder change is a second layer of Bioflex, but I can’t recall that 100%.

Overall it’s a number of small changes that should make the device much more user friendly and durable.

I wonder if they eventually went with the second layer. Would seem to me that it will make the cylinders too heavy. From the pics it does seem like the cylinder material texture is different.

The Titan Cylinder walls are thinner than AMS cylinders, and I imagine polyurethane (bioflex) is lighter than silicon + dacron. Two layers of Bioflex shouldn't make the cylinders heavier than AMS cylinders of the same size, especially if the second layer is thinner than the primary layer.

But that's just guessing on my part! 8-)
