Size of prostate

Postby strongagain » Wed Jun 24, 2026 10:03 am

My prostate is quite enlarged, which is hardly surprising given my age. However, a thought just occurred to me. The reservoir of the hydraulic implant is located next to the bladder. Does anyone know if the tube leading to the reservoir touches the prostate? If so, that could also be a reason for the enlarged prostate, as the sensitive prostate reacts very readily to a wide variety of stimuli.
Born 1950, ED since 2007 (colon cancer)
08/2015 Titan Zero Degree 22 cm + 3 cm RTE
Activation / intercourse after five weeks.
17,5 cm Very happy with implant.

strongagain, Going by your signature it looks like you've had your implant for almost 11 years? Yes, all the implant gear is packed into a relatively small space. So I guess it's possible that the tubing could touch the prostate gland and irritate it. But prostate enlargement commonly occurs for other reasons. I see you have survived colon cancer, so I don't want to preach to the choir, but if you haven't already I would get your PSA level tested. BPH is common, but so is prostate cancer and the symptoms are much the same (from a PC survivor).

Reinforcing the need for careful management. Cancer needs to be dealt with but even with BPH
there is only so much space in there and your reservoir is consuming some, so the symptoms of an enlarged prostate will be worse. Mine grew to the point where it closed off my urethra. (pre implant) You also have other tubes.
Also note that a lot of surgeons won't put the resevoir in there after prostate surgery because of potential complications.
Short story, keep talking to your trusted urologist.
ED since my 40s, managed by pills.
Increasingly severe BPH, emergency HoLEP prostatectomy Nov 2021.
Fixed the prostate but pills slowly became less and less effective.
