Pump causing scrotum pain

Postby Amerauto » Sun Jun 21, 2026 8:58 pm

Hi. Im 5 days post surgery so I understand the pump is gonna cause pain in the scrotum but how long does this last? I have the MS pump on the AMS700 and the edge of the block with deflate button is pressing against the skin and feels like im being attacked by fire ants.

Everyone is different. I had my first sex at 6 1/2 weeks. Mainly due to a scheduling issue with my wife. As I recall pain free but not discomfort free took over 2 weeks.

It is a slow process, each day gets a little bit better. My best strategy was to sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees. Probably took 2 ibuprofen before bed for a week or two. The extra room from the pillow gave me a well deserved break.

I had the titan coloplast installed on 6/8 and to date my balls due to the pump have been the worst part of my recovery. I am finally starting to walk upright and not wince every time I sit down. Slowly but surely I am getting better. Sounds like we are in the same boat!

Amerauto, I can reassure you that it will get better, but no one can tell you how long it will take as we all heal differently.
I found that I needed to avoid having my scrotum touch anything or else it would ache constantly.
As much as possible I tried to elevate it when sitting, watching TV etc. I either used a cushion under my ass, or sat forward so that my ball sac could hang free. Loose underwear might also help. At this early stage yes, ice can help. But I only found that useful for the first 10 days or so then heat was more effective. Spraying hot water on my bits in the shower brought relief, albeit temporarily.
Eventually the MS pump deflation block will stop irritating you and feel like it belongs there, which it does ;).

Thanks LGX. It is actually getting better already. Icing & heating my balls is my new hobby!! I think the initial cycling really made everything extremely tender but the worst is behind me. This surgery so far has been way “easier” than expected.
