Just arrived in Houston D Day minus 2

Postby mbryant » Sun Jun 14, 2026 6:20 pm

Just arrived in Houston D Day is Tuesday,.

Drove from florida to Houston over the last 2 days and just arrived in Houston. Can not believe the day is fast approaching. The process started back in December 25 cause I wanted to have time to fight insurance and also needed to be scheduled for summer.

Sure enough insurance denied the first time without a reason but thanks to Chatgpt, the surgeons office and device rep the appeal was approved after BCBS took every single day they are allowed to have an actual medical professional review my case. Long time pills and 3 years shots, all worked well in the beginning but lost effect but side effects increased. Finally approved and date locked in 4.months ago.

Got serious about my health to make optimum for recovery. Lowered A1c to 5.3, lost over 20 lbs, started walking daily for 30 mins and then daily 2x for 30 mins. VED every day for at least 30, went from flaccid almost 2inch to a 4.5 in flaccid and BPSL of 7.25.

I can say I have done everything I can do to let Dr Clavell have a great outcome. I will update as things progress. Hoping for the a Titan with classic pump.

I will keep updating for sure. Tomorrow is just pre admission blood work EKG etc. the big day is Tuesday. I'd love to sleep well before then but the last two nights have been difficult although I don't believe I'm afraid or concerned mostly just ready for this part to end and get on to the ice ice ice phase.

D day-1 update

Well, pre admittance testing and paperwork complete. Insurance taken care of, meds picked up and started. We had a great late breakfast close to the hotel/hospital. Relaxing and trying to stay mentally busy till bed time. I appreciate this forum for all the information I gained and hope to have something to add.

I will say this for those fighting the insurance company, stick with it and run your coverage thru ChatGpt to see if the procedure is covered. Not only did my policy cover the surgery, turns out the hospital and doctor in texas was covered in their net work, which of course they denied 6 mos ago when my surgeon sought authorization the first time. I'll update again when the surgery is over and I'm able

Thank you all again
