gabapentin for cycling pain?

Postby browny30 » Mon Jun 08, 2026 11:18 am

Has anyone tried gabapentin for cycling pain? I was on Co-drydamol after surgery, but I have been cycling for 8 months now and I'm still getting cycling pain and discomfort when pumped up.

I've read gabapentin helps with nerve pain and added bonus would be that it can work for premature ejaculation (which I'm still suffering from)

Any reviews would be nice

Browny30, sorry that you’re still having pain after 8 months. We almost have the exact implant install, I have the AMS LGX 18cm with 3cm rear extenders.

I never did take gabapentin for my glans or dick pain, it might have helped.
I had taken that medication for other problems in the past. I took it for several months when I had a vertigo issue.

It took me a long time to not have a lot of pain in my glans when I was pumped to the max too.

I would say that it took me a year before I could go for more than an hour without any discomfort in my glans area.
I would sit in a hot tub of water 3 to 4 times a week and pump to the max and see how long I could go without crying uncle. This was on top of my docs protocol of 2 times a day for 20 minutes.

I was concerned that it wouldn’t ever get better.

I don’t see where it would hurt to take it, just get a doctor opinion about it.

It did get better!

Good luck

Be aware Gabapentin is known to cause anorgasmia and delayed ejaculation. Not a problem if you have PE issues, but if you already have DE or sensitivity issues this could make you more frustrated.

Elbow room is correct. I was on gabapentin and it did cause trouble in reaching climax. But the worst culprit was the SSRI (serataline?) --- got off that and much of the trouble disappeared. Still have some issues, but nothing like before getting off the SSRI.
Had ED for about 25 years, and used pills, then injections, until implant in 2024, following bout with cancer. Implant is AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24 at age 65. Thank you, Medicare!
