Is Coloplast upgrading ALL of the tubing or just the KRT tubing from the pump to the reservoir?

Regardless, thank you Coloplast for the incremental updates!

Thank you for posting this! So the tubing is coated in BioFlex! Now I’m very excited.

Turns out the rumors of “BioFlex tubing” were more-or-less true! Now competitors will be forced to innovate. Good times!

I hope they'll also update their old pumps with the new tubing.

I wouldn't wanna try the new pump yet personally. The new Titan with the classic pump and coated bioflex tubing would be great imo

This is exciting news. I’m not sure what is meant by “kink resistant” tubing…are most tubing failures due to kinks? It also mentions abrasion resistance, I do know some failures close to the pump are from tubes rubbing together. I’d really like to know how the percentage of annual tube failures will change, but we won’t know that for some years.

The pumps looks like a variation of the touch pump…I wish the classic pump would be an option here, as I do think it’s superior in many ways and I love the easy to find deflate bars.

Hopefully by the time I need a revision these improvements will be well tested and any bugs shaken out, since I will have to stick with Coloplast for sizing.

Very very cool. If I need to make the switch from MPP to IPP one day these are exactly the kinds of improvements I’m looking forward to. Hopefully the claims hold true, and then Boston Scientific and Rigicon will need to keep innovating to keep up with Coloplast!

My understanding is that tubings develop micro fractures or kinks which eventually leads to tuning failure..Seems like Coloplast has tried to address this by incorporatimg bioflex in some from into the tubing material.
55 years. Using bimix 0.4 units. Works well but inconsistent and very inconvenient. Seriously considering an implant. 6.4 inches bone pressed length to tip, 5 inches girth base, 4.5 inches girth mid-shaft.

I hope that they upgraded all of the tubing. Otherwise the weak point would just move to the part that wasn't upgraded. And that would be a stupid move by Coloplast.

Good point. This paper almost sounds like a supportive study for the KRT upgrade!
