Climbing stairs after surgery
I'll be taking the leap soon. My bedroom is upstairs. Is it ok to climb stairs right after surgery? I'm getting my surgery with Clavell who places the reservoir submuscular. Wondering if reservoir herniation is a concern while climbing stairs.
55 years. Using bimix 0.4 units. Works well but inconsistent and very inconvenient. Seriously considering an implant. 6.4 inches bone pressed length to tip, 5 inches girth base, 4.5 inches girth mid-shaft.

Re: Climbing stairs after surgery
The reservoir goes in through the pelvis and up behind the abs. There is zero compromise of the abs or reason to worry about a hernia.
Stairs might be a little extra wear and tear but hardly significant. I never iced or had to lie around like some guys say. Obviously I wasn’t doing strenuous labor for the first few weeks, but walking around was fairly normal aside from the tent you’re pitching.

Just take it slow and it will be okay. Hold the hand rail those first few days.

Stairs won’t be a problem.
I walked up the stairs to my house. Then up the stairs to the second floor to lay down.
I was told to stay off my feet as much as possible but I was capable of walking and stairs. No problem or pain.

Ok thanks for the input guys. Glad that I don't have to create a temporary nest downstairs.which would be a major pain.

Stairs didn't cause me any problem, up and down my back steps from day one a couple times a day. Go slow the first few days.
If you don't have a bathroom upstairs, consider bringing a portable commode or at least a urinal with you. A bag of some sort to carry stuff up and down could be helpful.
