Not sure if you guys watch Dr. Clavell on Youtube, but I just finished one of his videos where he said that most surgeons recommend patients start cycling right away, but he goes against the grain and recommends waiting 3 weeks.
His reasoning was horrible though. It basically boiled down to "because my patients are silly geese." Since I'm not a silly goose, now I'm wondering about the flip side of the coin. What's most surgeons' reasoning for advising to cycle asap?
What's the benefit of cycling right away after surgery?

The reason Clavell, Eid and others recommend immediate (day 3, if possible) cycling is because as the penis heals over deflated cylinders, scar tissue forms. This can lead to shortening. Early, regular cycling prevents this, allowing the tissue to begin to stretch. Early cycling also allows the cylinders to shift around and settle in place.
It is imperative that the cylinders can be deflated, however. So, if the deflation button/bars cannot be easily felt and pressed, then one should wait before cycling.

Clavell does not. You didn't even read OP? He actually recommends 6 weeks but 4 is allowed if everything is perfect. Eid is the only one I've heard of saying 3 days. Fear of the capsular contracture happening that fast is way overblown in my opinion (and technically in that of 90% of surgeons).
I agree Clavell can be a little goofy with his humor sometimes, but he isn't wrong. It is so easy to get an infection when you fuck around with surgical scars too soon. It's extremely rare to find a surgeon so confident in his sutures and glue that he isn't worried about that, nor about jumping in a hot bath so soon. Obviously Eid has a lot of success, so it can't be the worst approach, but I wouldn't promote jumping in too soon. Solid gains with cycling take months to years and there is no consensus that cycling early makes the end result better.

Tajkarimi had me cycling on day 4. That’s typical for him. I had no issues with it and am glad I got it going early on. I see the logic of stretching the capsule ASAP. But I had infrapubic, which makes finding the deflate button easier since the scrotum is not as swollen.
61, used pills and trimix. Infrapubic Titan 24 implant with Dr Tajkarmini on Feb 3 2026. 7”/5” preop. 6.75”/4.75 post (so far). Faces page 32

Isn't that the big difference between the surgeons mentioned, their preferred installation method. Infrapubic versus penial-scrotal, I can see why there would be more concern for infection if you were cycling at 4 days with the penial-scrotal method. Also, it seems that all of the mentioned surgeons have very high success rates and very low infection rates. I am scheduled with Dr. Clavell for 16 June and trust his knowledge and experience, if he says 3 weeks 4 weeks etc that's what I plan to do.

Ultimately, that's really all it boils down to, whatever the surgeon recommends.
