Any long term daily users? 10 year plus reliability possible?

Don’t quote me on this, but I could swear I read that the 15-20 year lifespan is projected for use 1-2 times a week.

I generally agree with Hakky. Most of the time, revision seems to occur around the six-year mark. At least, that’s what I’ve noticed from this board.

I’ll be very happy if mine lasts at least 5 years. ElbowRoom made a really interesting point about the implants that HAVEN'T failed.
Applying that logic to Hakky:
Hakky doesn’t perform revisions on implants that HAVEN'T failed. He only revises broken ones. Is Hakky also missing many of the implants that are lasting far longer and not yet broken? We don’t know!

AMS-700 LGX here, got 9.5 years of pretty much multiple daily use. Either with myself or with a partner,,,or both. Just had revision surgery last Friday, replaced the AMS with a Titan.
Currently 50 years old. Had AMS-700 LGX implanted at 40. AMS failed at 9.5 years. Just had revision surgery with Dr. Eid on 5/1/26. Replaced with Coloplast Titan.

Thanks for the response, that seems like a pretty good result. Was your sex typically vigorous or rough, or less so? I’m wondering about normal use versus “hard use”. What failed that required the revision?

I would say more hard than normal. I got my implant at 40. I am in very good shape and dated girls who were very, shall we say, spirited!

When it failed, it failed. There was zero warning. I had epic sex one day, worked as intended, then the following day.....dead.

Thanks for the response. I’m in good shape and have been enjoying “spirited” sex a couple to several times a day lately.

Do you know how your AMS failed? Pump, tubing, reservoir? Just curious. With a Titan we could all assume tubing with 90% certainty, with AMS the failures seem more evenly spread among the components.

The right cylinder ruptured. I was able to limp by (no pun intended) for a couple months with just the left cylinder working, then it also let go.
