Here as well we have to take their words in context. Some of us are able, with both hands, to pump so high the thing doesn’t bend one degree. So when Perito demonstrates the 90 degree bending, he is saying pump it up “all the way” meaning “fill it up” but not to insane pressures. Gotta remember he is talking to mostly 70 year old guys who don’t lift.
It’s also good to note that in light of strain mechanics, distortion of the fibers is much more effective than a static stretch in one direction or at least the combination has synergy. When we train girth, we do a lot of bending and twisting because it shuffles the connective tissue.
