Had a consultation with Eid today on my MPP!

Postby JohnnyBorg » Mon Apr 13, 2026 3:29 pm

Hey everyone, wanted to share some decent news and some knowledge from an appointment I had today with Dr Eid to check in on my healing. I have some updates on my own situation, but I’ve also included some more general takeaways that could be interesting to both MPP and IPP brothers.

First, my situation:

So for those who haven’t been following my story, I had a Rigi10 MPP installed by Dr Hakky in January. My healing has been mostly good but I’ve still been dealing with friction based pain and soreness despite being at the 12 week mark. I couldn’t see Hakky until May due to some logistics on my side, but didn’t want to wait that long in the event that my pain or soreness was related to late infection or possibly even erosion. So while in NYC I got an appointment with Dr Eid to do a quick evaluation.

Slight oversizing: Eid feels like my Rigi10 was slightly oversized - not alarmingly so, but enough to where he felt strongly that my lingering pain is being caused by that. He did not feel that there was a major erosion risk, and actually indicated to me that he felt I’d keep seeing meaningful improvement with the pain in the weeks to come / that I’m still adapting to the implant. I was worried that at 12 weeks, that I was “behind” in terms of healing, but Eid was not concerned and he stated “the malleables actually hurt more” than the IPPs and can take longer to heal fully.

Redness: another issue I’ve noticed was red irritated spots on top of glans in different areas, which was concerning to me because it’s new and persistent. Eid again felt this was still going to improve with more time healing. He was not worried about it being permanent.

All in all, Eid felt that things looked good, that I’m still on track, and that I should give it a full year and then see how I’m doing. If there was still pain or if I was unhappy with my Rigi10 and wanted to revise to a Genesis or an IPP, that is all still an option. This was great news for me, and now I’m feeling really hopeful about getting back out into the dating scene without worry about how I’ve been healing.

More general takeaways:

- Eid feels like the Genesis is the best malleable due to the bend angle. He feels like the functional hardness of the devices are very similar between Genesis, Rigi10, and Tactra - and so the bend angle becomes one of the most important differences. I agree with him having lived with the Rigi10 for 3 months now - if I could go back in time, I’d pick the Genesis (I was ALMOST going to but decided on the Rigi10 on Hakky’s recommendation. Not faulting Hakky, he had his reasoning but in hindsight I believe I’d be happier with a Genesis!).

- Eid warned that over time, the MPPs can atrophy the tissue in the penis because they are always hard, and that this can result in tissue thinning / some shrinking in patients over time. This isn’t something that happens quickly for most patients and he indicated that the actual rigidity of the implant isn’t impacted, but that it does sometimes impact base wobble and appearance of the “flaccid” penis. He did indicate that revision to an IPP is feasible later on for MPP patients even in these cases. This isn’t new info but he did reiterate it.

- Eid made a joke about his potential retirement - I know for other guys in this forum that he has made similar comments and jokes. So clearly, it’s comin. I had to ask him: does he have any specific surgeons he would recommend? Eid of course indicated the key is high volume surgeons - but he also named Billy Cordon in Miami specifically as Dr Cordon trained with Dr Eid and follows his same operating procedures. He also gave Dr Hakky a nod as they have collaborated together in the past on some research, I believe it was related to RTEs.

Anyways, wanted to share some of this info for anyone interested. Hope it’s helpful to some of y’all!
