Penoscrotal incision- managing sweat and ice during recovery?

Postby Friday121224 » Sat Apr 04, 2026 9:53 am

Hey guys — for those of you with a penoscrotal approach, did sweat around the incision site concern you during recovery? How did you manage moisture and keep the area clean? Also curious how you handled icing with that placement. My first implant was infrapubic so this is new territory for me — I have a revision with a penoscrotal incision and just want to go in prepared.
Pills failed in my 30's. Moved on to Trimix. Had a priapism at age 40 on Tri-Mix. End of Tri-Mix.

I was implanted with the penoscrotal method. I don’t recall, having a problem with sweating, since I just hung around in a robe for the entire first week, sitting in a recliner, comfortably and legs as spread as possible. I kept ice packs and a bag of frozen peas at hand for keeping the swelling down.
The almost constant ice down there prevented all sweating as well as swelling.
I only left the house if I absolutely had to, and then wearing the loosest sweat pants on hand with large shirts worn outside the pants to cover the inflated dick.
You don’t want to scare old ladies and small children! LOL

Thanks man, this an exactly what I needed to hear. The robe and recliner makes total sense. And I hadn’t thought about the ice essentially taking care of the sweat problem at the same time. Appreciate you sharing the practical details.

Definitely trying to avoid terrorizing the neighborhood too :)

Quick update- just had my revision done yesterday and wanted to add that revision surgery, at least in my experience, has been dramatically less painful than my primary. Barely any scrotal bruising or swelling at day 1. Not sure if that is surgeon specific, the fact that the tissue planes are already established, or both— but is anyone is dreading a revision the way I dreaded my primary, it may suprise you.

I avoided sweating as much as possible until the incision was fully sealed. You should be taking it easy anyway, why would your incision get sweaty?
