Titan One Toch / Titan OTR

Postby Fernando1998 » Mon Mar 30, 2026 1:47 pm

Good afternoon, brothers. On February 5, 2026, I had the Titan One Touch prosthesis implanted.

Recently, I've heard some negative things about the Titan OTR (One Touch Release) prosthesis. I’m not sure if it’s the same prosthesis or if they are two different models. Does anyone know?

Thank you very much!

I am pretty sure B C D are the Titan Classic (genesis) (2004), the OTR (2008), and the Touch (2012) pumps

As far as I've seen guys are getting whichever one they want or the doctor insists on, essentially. I saw mention that the OTR had more tubing failure than the classic, and sometimes a stuck valve, but if you are not one of the minority whose pump has an issue, you are just as good as anybody.

The Touch is the newest, but they all have their quirks. With the touch it is still pretty difficult to feel the button, but it has worked every time, it's just annoying to apply enough pressure without it flipping.

Well, I've had both: first the OTR and now the Classic. To me, they feel and work essentially the same, with the OTR perhaps being just slightly easier to deflate. Dr. Eid says that the OTR is more prone to breaking down (as mine did). Based on that, and only on that, I would recommend the Classic. But now that you have the OTR, there is no need to fret about that. As far as I know, most OTR implantees get ten or fifteen years of use of their device before it breaks down. If I were you, I'd put that out of my mind and worry about it when that time comes.

All the this time I thought I had the OTR. But based on your picture, I actually have D, the touch. I’m happy with it, but sometimes it is hard to rotate it to get to the button. Also, sometimes it makes a noise and sometimes it doesn’t. I’m not sure why. I noticed that when it makes a noise it actually seems to pump faster. When it doesn’t make a noise, it seems like the bulb takes longer to refill after squeezing.

f you were just implanted it's probably the Titan One Touch. The deflate button was tough for me to locate at first. Other than that it has been no problem, no issues.
Just like anything mechanical it can work for a long time or go bad anytime.

Coloplast makes two pumps, the “Classic” original pump, and the OTR pump. Both work well, but the OTR feature seems finnicky and hard to make work correctly. It works fine, just not always with one touch. Also the tubes going into the OTR pump are closer together and could cause rubbing/failure more easily theoretically, but not sure if that is statistically borne out.

Most high volume doctors seem to have no preference or prefer the Classic. I have the Classic and no complaints about pump operation. But I wouldn’t feel bad about it if I could only get the OTR pump.

I had classic on my first and Dr Clavell suggested I go back with classic when I asked about the OT. He suggested that the classic is what I’m used to and would be better off with it and that it tends to be more reliable. My only issue I’ve ever had with the Classic, and the reason I asked about the OTR is the squeeking or quacking noise it makes when pumping it! Hard to sneak a woody in without the wife being in to me when we’re both in bed!! :D
