Hi:

If anyone here has an upcoming surgery with Hakky, would they mind asking him:

1) Is Coloplast, in fact, working on making their tubing out of the same BioFlex material as their cylinders?

2) If so, when is this projected for availability?

I would just really appreciate some confirmation on this. BioFlex tubing would practically guarantee an uninterrupted lifespan of twenty years.

This is exciting. If Coloplast developed voice-controlled inflation and deflation features, it could also completely eliminate the duck-squawking sounds from the classic pump. I’d also love to see Bioflex cylinders that feel soft and natural, just like the AMS 700. If there’s a clinical trial, I’d be first in line to be a guinea pig.

Good to ask, but this is nonsense. The greatest point of failure in tubing is always its connections. There is already titanium coil or something in the tubing. It has to be attached to the solid pieces better and/or a better system designed for the surgeons to use connecting the pieces.

The bioflex tubing will be available in about 2 years. I think this will be a game changer.

Could Coloplast engineer a durable tubing junction capable of outlasting a charging cable?

Does a genuine 'lifetime' charging cable even exist?

I seriously doubt any product can truly claim permanence, but we should be optimistic.
